POLL: Which Fujifilm System Do You Own?

The Fujifilm team in Japan paid me a few hundreds of bucks to conduct a marketing research among their largest online community, the FujiRumors fellowship, aimed to investigate how many of you actually shoot X series or GFX series.

Just kidding :)

I’ve never received nor will ever receive a single penny from Fujifilm, so rest assured that FujiRumors is and will remain a space 100% independent from Fujifilm.

The true reason for the survey today, is just to satisfy a very personal curiosity.

I wondered how many of you guys own X series cameras and how many own GFX. Or maybe you chose to do it like me, and just own both system (I am waiting for my GFX100S to come). Some might even shoot Fuji + another brand. Whatever it is, feel free to vote the survey down below.

Because I have the impression things might have changed quite a bit compared to January 2019, when I made a similar survey and it turned out that only 3% of FR-readers actually owned a GFX camera.

But maybe I am wrong with my impression. The survey below will show that.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you pre-ordered the GFX100S as your first GFX camera, and just did not get it shipped yet, you can drop your vote as GFX owner.

I currently own the following systems.... (NOTE: GFX100S pre-orders qualify as "GFX Owner")

CONFIRMED: Registered FF210001 Camera is the Fujifilm GFX50S MKII and Release Date Speculations

Yesterday we told you that Fujifilm will launch the Fujifilm GFX50S MKII in 2021.

But when exactly will it hit the market?

Well, I don’t know that yet.

However, our sources told us that the FF210001 camera recently registered is the codename for the Fujifilm GFX50S MKII and not any other X or GFX camera.

Now, looking at the past time gap between past registrations and release, Fujifilm needed between 1 to 6 months to announce new gear.

If (and that’s a big “if“) Fujifilm keeps the same pace, this means that the Fujifilm GFX50S MKII could be announced as early as April 2021 or latest in late August / early September.

Fujifilm India Teases a Big Announcement Coming Soon, but Don’t Get too Hyped About it ;)

Fujifilm India (and ONLY Fujifilm India) is teasing a big announcement soon here.

Don’t worry, it 100% won’t be the upcoming Fujifilm GFX we just told you about.

Keep in mind that India often annouced gear weeks or even a few months after it was announced in the rest of the world, like it was with the GFX100, which got a dedicated announcement launch event a few months after it was discolsed in the rest of the world.

Trust me guys… ;)

BCN Ranking 2020 vs 2019: Fujifilm Resists Best to COVID-19 and Nikon Suffers

The BCN ranking for the year 2020 has been published. BCN collects data of about 40% of the Japanese electronics and online stores.

Every camera company lost sales compared to 2019, however, Fujifilm did best, getting very close to 2019 in terms of sales thanks to the excellent sales of the Fujifilm X-T4, the Fujifilm X-S10 and the Fujifilm X100V. The only flop of 2020 was the Fujifilm X-T200, which is in my opinion the single best entry level camera you can get, but sadly it did not get the success it deserved.

This confirms what a Fujifilm managers already hinted here: Fujifilm did better in 2020 than other brands.

Now let’s look at the data.
