Fujifilm X-H2 in 2022 Will Be FIRST X Series Camera with New Sensor and Processor

Here is what we know thanks to our rumors:

Now, since an illustrious Fujifilm managers talked about a breakthrough to achieve with Fujifilm X-H2, we all expected the Fujifilm X-H2 to feature a new sensor and processor.

But some readers contacted recently, asking me if maybe the first camera to introduce the new sensor and processor will be the X-Pro4, followed by the X-H2 later on.

And I understand where this comes from. It happened in the past that Fujifilm used the X-Pro line to introduce new platforms (X-Pro1 and X-Pro2).

Well, today I’d like to clarify that and say that the Fujifilm X-H2 will be Fujifilm’s first X series camera to introduce the new sensor and processor platform, and not the X-Pro4.

But attention: the Fujifilm X-H2 is still far away, and we will not get it until some point in 2022.

Fujifilm is crafting a monstrous camera and they are not allowed to fail. This means that they will take all the time they need to release real stunner, confident of the fact that in the meantime sales of X-T series, X-S10 and X100V cameras will keep up going strong, allowing Fujifilm not to hurry with the X-H2.

As one of our trusted sources said: it will be a long wait, but it will be well worth it.

BREAKING: No More Fujifilm X Series Camera Coming in 2021

It’s not easy to believe, but it’s true: the Fujifilm X-E4 launched in January 2021 will be the one and only X series cameras that Fujifilm will launch in 2021. That’s according to our trusted sources.

As far as I can remember, it will be the first year ever, that Fujifilm launches one (1) Fujifilm X series camera only.

I can feel your disbelief, but trust me, it’s 100% accurate.

Personally I think that the combo between X-T4 and X-S10 is an excellent competitor in the market also for 2021, hence no hurry to come out with more cameras.

On the other hand, it’s great to see that Fujifilm is pushing on releasing new lenses so far in 2021 and it looks like also in 2022. That has often not been the case in the past few years, with Fujifilm gravitating towards pushing camera bodies instead of glass.

But which lenses will come?

Well, you can take a look at our rumored 2021/2022 Fujinon X Lens roadmap for a more comprehensive explanation. But since I know 99,999% of you prefer stuff ultra compact and short, here is the short list:

And let’s hope the list of lenses to come in 2021 will be even longer than the one we rumored.

MEGA DEAL on Fujinon XF200mmF2 and More Coming also to USA (but It’s Ridiculous if You Ask Me)

The Mega Deals

Fujifilm Europe launched an absolutely stunning deal on the Fujinon XF200mmF2 with a €2,000 discount, as well as huge deals on other lenses.

I have been now told (thanks), that similar deals will start also in USA. The deals will include a massive rebate on the XF200mmF2, too.

I don’t know if also the Fujifilm X-T4 will be included, but the fact that there is a first $100 rebate popping up on the X-T4 body only, might indicate that the X-T4 will be included.

XF200mmF2 – Fit for Fujifilm X-H2

When Fujifilm developed the Fujinon XF200mmF2, they indication to engineers was simple: achieve best image quality, no matter what!

And I can tell you from my own experience with this lens, that you’ll get a ridiculous sharpness out of it. So now wonder it gets only 5 star ratings!

The XF200mmF2 is clearly underperforming on current Fujifilm cameras, and once the high resolution Fujifilm X-H2 drops on the market in 2022, it will finally unlock its full potential.

Considering the image quality and the fact that it comes with a newly designed 1.4x teleconverter, I always thought that 6K is actually a fair price for how it performs. And soon, with such a big rebate, I definitely call it a steal.

The Ridiculous Thing is…

Ok, so Fujifilm is going to drop a massive deal on the Fujinon XF200mmF2 all over the world.

But the ridiculous thing is that Fujifilm is launching a massive rebate on a lens, the XF200mmF2, that right now is mostly out of stock.

I mean, I’d understand if they’d launched a deal on a lens that is getting dust in the warehouses and they can’t get rid of. But adding a huge rebate on a lens that clearly is short on stock, well, I am afraid that will lead to biblical waiting times for those, who order it.

So, in any case, if you are interested in one, definitely order quickly as soon as the deals are available. At the moment there are some availabe at BHphoto here and one single sample at AmazonUS here.

Fujifilm GFX100S Stuck Shutter Issue – A Flawed Design? Nope, it’s a Limited and Easy to Fix Wiring Issue

In a perfect world, everything we buy would come out of the factory in perfect conditions.

But there is a reason why everything we buy comes with a warranty: no matter how premium you go, not all items come out perfect from the factory. Not even Fujifilm gear.

In these days, I am getting a lot of emails from readers worried about the shutter jam reports that popped up especially in our gigantic Fujifilm GFX group.

I have read lots of misleading theories about this issue. Some say it needs a “major repair“, some say it’s a flawed design, others go so far to say that the shutter unit on the Fujifilm GFX100S is just of poor quality and it will end up breaking like the one on some Sony cameras.

So let’s be clear: it does not need a “major” repair, nor it’s an issue that can be compared to the Sony shutter problems.

The shutter on some Sony cameras, which is rated for 200,000 actuations, is apparently made with poor material, as there are so many reports about it breaking after 10,000 to 50,000 shots already. For this reason Sony has been sued and is now facing a class action by numerous angry customers. People ask for a recall on change.org, which Sony happily ignores.

The issue on the Fujifilm GFX100S is totally different and way less serious.

The shutter itself on the Fujifilm GFX100S is rocksolid, nothing is flawed there and it has absolutely no problems. It does not need any repair at all.

The real problem, as explained here at our GFX facebook group by an Ukrainian Fujifilm manager as well as an official Fujifilm X photographer, is a wiring/circuits issue that affects a limited number of Fujifilm GFX100S cameras. It’s a minor issue and hence a very easy and fast fix.

So, if the shutter on your Fujifilm GFX100S ever locks-up, then yes, you’ll have to go through the annoying process of sending it in for repair, but you’ll also know that your shutter is just fine, and an easy and quick fix on the wiring will solve it forever.

The issue seems to be rather limited for now and it is creating more noise in forums than in real life.

I mean, I had an issue with the joystick on my X-E3. I used the warranty and the joystick on my X-E3 now never let me down since then. Yes, I had to live a few days without my X-E3, but that was about it. It just can happen.

Again: it should not happen, but sadly it can happen. Just know that it’s an easy fix and not a flawed design or poor shutter materials like some suggest.
