See Fujifilm’s Current IBIS Unit in Fujifilm X-T2 and Why the Fujifilm X-T3 Won’t Have IBIS

this is the Fujifilm X-H1 IBIS unit placed into the Fujifilm X-T2

Fujifilm’s Current IBIS

Some FujiRumors readers have a hard time to believe our rumor, that the Fujifilm X-T3 won’t have IBIS. And you always do good to doubt, since there are undoubtedly lots of fake and wrong rumors surfacing on the web all the time… but not here on FujiRumors ;) .

And yet, despite sharing about 100 rumors a year with a statistic accuracy of 95%+, you should always take also what we write with a grain of salt.

Hence, in order to give some substance to the rumor the X-T3 won’t have IBIS, I decided to give you 2 facts.

Fujinon XF200mm F2: Filter Size 105mm (no Drop-In Filter), Beige Color & Recap

Fujinon 200mm F2 Vs. CaNikon equivalent lenses

Fujinon XF200mm F2

Let’s go straight to the point:

According to our sources (thanks), what we have shared so far about the XF200mm F2 is all correct:

  • Unlike publicy shown by Fujifilm, the XF200 won’t be black, but tending towards “white” (more of a beige color). This is made to improve image quality, as we reported here
  • The Fujinon XF200mm F2 will require new teleconverters, because the current ones are only designed to work down to f2.8,. The first new teleconverter we will get is the 1.4x TC, as we reported here.

And now the new stuff:

Fujifilm XF10 Announcement Postponed to After July 5

Fujifilm XF10

Back in June we reported that Fujifilm registered a camera with the code name “FF 180002” to be announced on July 5, said the same document.

However, as spotted by nokishita, Fujifilm now removed the reference to the July 5th announcement from the document. Nokishita writes “it is unclear whether it is a mistake or postponement“.

So don’t expect anything coming on July 5th. You can celebrate Independence Day and take care about the hang-over the day after… there won’t be any live blogging you have to follow :) .

The Fujifilm XF10 is an X70 without one of the most loved features of the X70, the selfie screen, and it has a Bayer sensor.

The Fujifilm XF10 can not be considered and won’t be even marketed as the X70 successor. We already wrote our X80 wish-list with list of features and improvements we would like to see over the X70.

Currently there are a total of 3 Fujifilm cameras registered:

  • FF 180002: Camera similar in size to Fujifilm X70. Very likely the Fujifilm XF10
  • FF 180003: Camera with bluetooth version 4.2. Very likely the Fujifilm X-T3
  • FF 180004: Camera with radio parts like Fujifilm X-H1 and X-E3. Very likely the Fujifilm GFX 50R

Huge Deals on Fujifilm X-H1, X-T2, X-Pro2 and X-E3 Coming. Big Sell-Out Before Arrival of Fujifilm X-T3

Fujifilm Deals

Fujifilm is getting ready for the next wave of big deals.

In fact the Polish Fujifilm page here already uploaded the list of gear that will get a huge discount from July 1 to September 30, 2018.

According to the Polish Fujifilm page, you will save between €200 and €300 on the following items:

  • Fujifilm X-H1 body only or with vertical grip
  • Fujifilm X-T2 body only or with XF18-55
  • Fujifilm X-E3 with XF23/2, XF35/2 or XF50/2
  • Fujifilm X-Pro2 with XF23/2, XF35/2 or XF50/2

Of course if Fujifilm Poland launches these deals, we can expect the same deals to be available in many other European countries, too.

And since this is evidently the big sell-out before the arrival of the Fujifilm X-T3 in September, I would not be surprised to see this sale offered also by Fujifilm North America.

But keep in mind one thing: the Fujifilm X-T3 will not have IBIS, so if you want all your (Fujinon or third party) lenses stabilized, then you have to go for the Fujifilm X-H1.

DON’T BE AFRAID to miss the deals. Just follow FR and you can rest assured that I will notify you the very same second that the deals go live via Facebook, RSS-feed and Twitter.

Sony APS-C Global Shutter 31 MP Sensor Leaked. Not for Fujifilm X-T3, which Will Have 26 Megapixel – UPDATED

SAR ADMIN updated the article with the following 2 notes:
UPDATE: A chinese source just sent me these specs sheets of a rumored new Sony CMOS sensor found on Weibo. I am not sure if they are real but it certainly looks like that.
UPDATED: I edited this post and removed the note about the possibility that this might be used by the future A6700. What we learned now is that this is an APS-C sensor with an aspect ratio of 4:3.

FR ADMIN NOTE: As pointed out by readers, it’s been developed for FA and ITS applications. This is (expensive) BtoB stuff. Not BtoC photographic equipment.

New Sensor

SonyAlphaRumors just received specs about what seems to be the future APS-C sensor made by Sony.

This is of interest for Fujifilm lovers, since Fujifilm buys its sensor from Sony.

However, as we reported here on FujiRumors, the Fujifilm X-T3 will have 26 Megapixel and still be X-Trans. So, if the rumor below is correct, I wouldn’t expect it to be featured on Fujifilm cameras before 2020/2021, maybe something for the Fujifilm X-H2 or Fujifilm X-T4.

Here is what SAR writes:

“A chinese source just sent me these specs sheets of a rumored new Sony CMOS sensor. I don’t know if this is a real deal or some fake specs. So please take it with a grain of salt. But if it’s true this is going to be an AMAZING sensor that might find it’s way into the new A6700!

Key info:

– APS-C size 4:3 aspect ratio
– 31.5 megapixel
– FSI (Front Side illuminated)
– global shutter

This would be the first Front Side illuminated Global Shutter APS-C sensor. Surely enough to make the A6700 super exciting! Here are the spec sheets:
