5 Things I Like and Dislike About the Fujifilm X-H1 – ZedProMedia

5 Likes & Dislike about the Fujifilm X-H1

ZedProMedia just shared a video about the 5 things he dislikes about the Fujifilm X-H1, mostly for video use. You can check out the video here.

  • Battery Life
  • Video File splitting every 5 minutes and record limit
  • 120fps has lots of moirè and aliasing (probably a procssing limit. X-T3 will have faster processor ;) )
  • jerky IBIS in video. Does not look so natural like GH5
  • video AF is not that reliable and hunts, but really depends on the lens you use (fixable via firmware update)

In his following video he shares the 5 things he loves about the Fujifilm X-H1. You can check out the video here.

  • buttons, handling and grip, feels like a beastly chunk of a camera
  • EVF super bright, definitely better than X-T2
  • Eterna film simulation. Very easy to grade if you don’t shoot Flog
  • autofocus system, really fast and snappy (for stills)
  • silent shutter. Insanely quite. Great for weddings
  • BONUS: 200 mbps 4K

LEAKED: Fujifilm X-T100 Images (Top – Front – Back)

Fujifilm X-T100

Nokishita and Digicame-info just leaked additional images of the Fujifilm X-T100. This time you can see it from the top, back and front.

Also, please notice that the “newly designed 3 way tilt screen” seems indeed to be a selfie screen, like we rumored already over a month ago.

I asked if you guys want such a screen also on the Fujifilm X-T3, and here is your answer.

We know already a lot about the Fujifilm X-T100, since Fujifilm EU leaked the entire X-T100 product page last week.

Here on FujiRumors we have the date of the announcement for you guys: May 24.

There will be of course a Live Blogging, so make sure to Follow & Like us on Facebook, RSS-feed, Instagram, Youtube and Twitter

Fujifilm X-T100: Do We Really Need it and Will You Buy it? See the FULL SPECS and VOTE the POLL

Fujifilm X-T100 – Do We Need It?

Earlier today the full specs of the Fujifilm X-T100 leaked at FujifilmEU… and they confirm all the rumors that we have shared since we started the X-T100 rumor marathon in September 2017:

According to rumors shared exclusively for you here on FujiRumors, the announcement is set for May 24.

Now the question is: does the Fujifilm X-T100 makes sense to you?

Fuji’s idea is clear: the Fujifilm X-T100 will close the gap between the EVF-less Fujifilm X-A5 and Fuji’s mid-range X-Trans Fujifilm X-T20 and compete with cameras like the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark II and the Sony A6000

Since it has an EVF (first APS-C Bayer X-series camera to have it), it could potentially attract those enthusiast photographers, who are attracted by the X-system, but are scared by the fake myths surrounding the X-Trans sensor (personally I am an X-Trans fan).

I think that most of you guys reading this blog, won’t care much about the Fujifilm X-T100. But just like the X-A5, I think also the X-T100 could find a huge fellowship. To me, it is a good move by Fujifilm, although personally I’d go for the X-T20 over the X-T100.

But no matter if the X-T100 is interesting or not, I will be sleepless and work restlessly on the live blogging on May 24.

So, if you find yourself bored after you…

  • had dinner
  • your kids went sleeping
  • your better half is out for an evening with friends
  • your favorite TV show ended
  • you finished cleaning the windows of your apartment

… then you are invited to join our live blogging on May 24 and to follow us on Facebook, RSS-feed, Twitter.

It won’t be the most epic of all announcements, but there are some things that might still be interesting and indicate some future features also of high-end Fuji cameras, like the “newly designed 3-way tilt screen”. And then, who knows… maybe there will be some big surprises too :) .

In any case you can count on me: I am 100% focussed and ready for a non stop live blogging… no matter what comes.

These Two Huge Photography Vloggers Just Discovered Fujifilm, Got Infected by the X-Virus and Now Have Fun with Photography Again!

Discovering Fujifilm in 2018

Here on FujiRumors we talk about Fujifilm X and GFX gear every day since over 6 years now.

Those, who follow FujiRumors regularly, will also know in which direction Fujifilm is going, may it be the Fujifilm X-T3, the GFX 50R, the X-T100, the GFX 100S… and there is more to come… you definitely want to follow us also on Facebook, RSS-feed and Twitter if you want to stay in the loop ;) .

So, in our eyes, talking about the Fujifilm X100F might seem old news.

But believe it or not, despite Fujifilm being every year more successful, X-shooters are still a relatively small niche in the photography world and many people don’t even know that Fujifilm makes highly sophisticated mirrorless cameras.

So today I’d like to highlight 2 huge youtubers (with well over a million subscribers), who recently stumbled upon the Fujifilm X system, more specifically the (now discounted) Fujifilm X100F.

The enthusiasm they show, when they talk about their “discovery” of the Fujifilm X system, reminds me a lot to my own excitement, when, after migrating from Canon to Sony, from Olympus to Panasonic, I finally discovered the Fuji X system.

I can without a doubt say that the X-system, although not perfect for everybody, was perfect for me. Why? Because I had so much fun shooting with it like never before. A fun that never stopped until today.

It’s No Coincidence

It’s no coincidence, that photographers, who have a long story with Canon or Nikon (like the two youtubers today), start their Fuji X adventure with an X100 line camera.

In fact, the X100F serves also this purpose.

It’s a compact, fixed lens, high quality and feature packed camera (hybrid viewfinder, build in ND-filters, film simulations and more), that is also ment to serve as a second camera for those photographers, who have already invested heavily into other systems, and do not want to buy into a completely new one.

So to speak, the Fujifilm X100F could be seen also as the “gateaway drug” into the X world.

CaNikon shooters get it as a small second camera for everyday use, start to have fun with it, enjoy the film simulations, the good old classic controls, get familiar with the X cameras, and at some point might be tempted to ditch their old system and switch to interchangeable Fujifilm X cameras… maybe a story that might sound familiar to some of you guys ;) .

Fujfilm Announcement Coming Within 2 Weeks. Fujifilm X-T100, Instax SQ6… and Surprises?

Fujifilm Announcement Coming

On May 26, the Australian store CameraPro will offer a full day event packed with workshops, presentations and hands-on activities and more. If you want to join, check out their eventbrite page here.

In the event description they also write:

Bonus Sessions: A unique photo opportunity and an exclusive first touch and try of a yet to be announced Fuji release will be added in the coming weeks.

Thanks to Tony White from for sharing this tidbit with us :) .

So within May 26, we will get a new Fuji gear… but what?

Here on FujiRumors we have rumored the core specs of the Fujifilm X-T3, we talked a lot about the Fujifilm GFX 50R, we even looked far ahead to the Fujifilm GFX 100S, but the most rumored camera at the moment (and hence probably the closest to come) is the Fujifilm X-T100… so let’s talk about it :).

Fujifilm X-T100

We shared the first rumors about the Fujifilm X-T100 back in September 2017. Over the following weeks and months, FujiRumors has shared braking specs of Fujifilm X-T100.

Here are the main specs again for you guys:

  • design similar to X-T20
  • 24 Megapixel Bayer sensor
  • Selfie Screen
  • very affordable

The goal of the Fujifilm X-T100 is to close the gap between the EVF-less Fujifilm X-A5 and Fuji’s mid-range X-Trans cameras like the Fujifilm X-T20 and Fujifilm X-E3.

The direct competitors of the Fujifilm X-T100 are cameras like the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark II and the Sony A6000.

Instax SQ6

Soon Fujifilm will also launch the Instax SQ6, which has already completely leaked here.

Here on FujiRumors we shared the first real life images already back in March 17, 2017 here, so well over a year ago.

The Instax SQ6 is basically the film-only version of the hybrid Instax Square SQ10 and it will take the Instax Square Film.

Of course there could be surprises. Maybe some lenses, such as the XF8-16mmF2.8? Or the XF200mmF2? For sure the X70 successor will NOT come in May.

I will work on it now and let you guys now if I can find out something. So make sure to follow us on Facebook, RSS-feed and Twitter.

Till then… you can dream freely in the comments :).

have a GREAT Day,

Fujifilm X-T2 Kaizen Firmware 4.00 Officially Available… and This Makes NO Sense, FUJI! :)

Fujifilm X-T2 Firmware 4.00

Fujifilm just released the final and official Fujifilm X-T2 firmware ver. 4.00, and it brings new features such as focus bracketing, internal F-log, 120 fps slow motion and more, as well as improvements such as faster autofocus in low light.

Definitely one of Fujifilm’s notorious and much-loved Kaizen updates. So don’t wait any further and download your new X-T2 camera… for free.

No Eterna? Shoot F-Log and then use the Eterna LUT file, which is available for free.

Having problems to update your firmare? Then read Rico’s “Tips for Updating your Firmware“.

IT IS TIME to Follow & Like FujiRumors at Facebook, RSS-feed, Instagram, Youtube and Twitter

This makes No Sense, FUJI!!!!

Of course it makes no sense for Fujifilm to update the “old” X-T2 and bring it almost to the level of the brand new Fujifilm X-H1, since X-T2 owners will now have fewer reasons to upgrade to the X-H1.

Also, it makes no sense to massively improve a camera, the X-T2, that will be replaced very soon by the Fujifilm X-T3, which we have shared already many specs here on FR and will be announced shortly before photokina in September 2018.

Firmware updates are economically speaking a loss business for Fujifilm. They cost lots of money and extend life span of old products, which consequentially means people will keep their old gear longer and do not upgrade to the “latest and greatest“.

It happened to me, with the Fujifilm X-T1, that Fujifilm kept up improving so many times, that I simply sitcked with it, despite the X-T2, X-Pro2, X100F, X-T20 and all the other “better” cameras that followed… at least until the Fujifilm X-E3 came along… a temptation too big for me to resist.

So kudos to Fujifilm for consistently making the wrong thing and delivering us customers firmware updates. Many other companies simply force people to buy the newest camera to get the latest features (and make more money doing so).

In a world, where Apple released firmware updates that slowed down terribly my iPhone SE in order to force me to buy their latest model, it’s good to know that there is a company out there, Fujifilm, that actually thinks at customer support… and happiness… by improving their products over the years via free firmware updates.

TIPA Awards 2018: Fujifilm Left (Almost) Empty-Handed. Only Instax SQ10 Gets Awarded

In the last years, Fujifilm often won quite some of awards at the TIPA awards.

  • 2017: Fujifilm wins 5 awards
  • 2016: Fujifilm wins 3 awards
  • 2015: Fujifilm wins 3 awards
  • 2014: Fujifilm wins 2 awards
  • 2013: Fujfiilm wins 3 awards

Well, this year is the worst for Fujifilm, since the “X-series era“. They won 1 award only, and it goes to the Instax Square SQ10 for the “Best Design“.

So the Fujfiilm X-H1 and Fujifilm X-E3 were not good enought to make it into the TIPA ranking. Let’s hope the upcoming Fujifilm X-T3 and Fujifilm GFX 50R will change it next year.

I am surprised, though, that not even one of the astonishing Fujinon lenses has made it into the list. For example, while the winner of the best mirrorless prime lens, the Samyang AF 35mm F2.8 FE, is surely a fine lens, I can’t see it being superior to the equivalent Fujinon GF 45mm F2.8.

So despite TIPA creating overall 40 categories, there is not much love for Fujifilm this year.

Fujifilm X-H1 Vs. Sony A7III Autofocus and IBIS Comparison, The Last X-Trans III Camera, Fuji Guys Vlog & more (X-H1 Roundup)

Fujifilm X-H1 Reviews & Controversy

Max Yuryev compared the Fujifilm X-H1 and Sony A7III Autofocus and IBIS.

The video is titled “Fuji surprises“, but I guess this is more to calm the spirits after his last video (linked below), where he says the Fujifilm X-H1 “gets destroyed” by the Sony A7III in low light (1 stop difference in terms of noise).

Also in his newest video, he seems to love the Sony A7III overall more.

  • Video AF: Better face detection on the Sony A7III (recognizes faces more distant)
  • Both fantastic video AF with face detection disabled. Sony a bit smoother.
  • IBIS: Fujifilm X-H1 mostly much smoother. Sometimes it “jumps” to reset position. Sony A7III generally more shaky, but no “jumps”.
  • Fujifilm AF video adjustments can be faster, which is great for photography, but in video you want a smooth transition. Fujifilm X-H1 is sometimes smooth focussing, but sometimes it focusses as fast as possible to the new subject.

The latest Max Yuryev Sony A7III Vs. Fujifilm X-H1 comparisons links:

Speaking of controversial statements, Tony Northrup said here, that the Sony A7III has “crushed the hopes of the Fujifilm X-H1“. I know it’s a controversal video, due to his statement “twice as good image quality for the Sony A7III“, so make sure to check out also Tony’s follow-up video here, where he clarifies “twice” refers technically to “1 stop“, and that with “image quality” he was analyzing “noise and dynamic range“.

The Last X-Trans III camera?

Gordon from cameralabs has published a very comprehensive Fujifilm X-H1 review. Gordon has very good contacts within the photo industry, and if he says that the Fujifilm X-H1 will “possibly be the last to use the X-Trans III sensor“, then I guess he knows what he talks about.

But no big surprise for regular FujiRumors readers. We already told you that the Fujifilm X-T3 will be announced around photokina 2018, have a new X-Trans sensor with less than 30MP and a new processor, and also lack of IBIS.

Fujifilm X-H1 Vs. X-T2: IBIS makes a Hell of a Difference (for Stills) + Shooting 1 Hour in the Rain with X-H1 No Problem

Fujifilm X-H1 Roundup

If you are interested in the Fujifilm X-H1, then there is one space you should definitely be: our X-H1 facebook group.

Here on FR, I can just share 3% of the huge amount of content shared there.

This time we would like to show, that IBIS can make the difference not only in video, but also for stills.

In his quick test, X-H member Bob shows here, that thanks to IBIS, the X-H1 allows you to get tack sharp images where the X-T2 with the same lens and settings will give you motion blur.

Bob writes:

Totally non scientific comparison between my X-T2 and X-H1 taken today with the same lens (Fuji 16-55 2.8) set to same ISO / aperture / focal length. IBIS (IMHO) made a hell of a difference. Taken in a low light space from the same spot with no post processing.. both are JPG’s. [IMAGE at top of this article]

BTW – The wight and size issues have been very overblown. If this camera is too heavy, stick with your iPhone

Also Chris has some interesting feedback about the X-H1:

1) bigger than it looks in pictures
2) however feels much lighter and smaller in your hands
3) way more comfortable to grip than the xt2 and xpro2
4) IBIS rocks. Way better than Sony A7II IBIS
5) autofocus is blazing fast
6) wifi connect and image transfer speeds to your phone are about 60% faster.
7) does anyone sell a screen protector for the eink and lcd display?
8 ) evf is a dream.

So glad i picked this up. Is it worth replacing your xt2? In a heartbeat. And i dont shoot much video either.

Last but not least, here is a short comment that Michael made

I got the camera thinking I would send it back if I wasn’t impressed… then I attached my 90mm f2 and turned on IBIS. Sold.

These are just three tidbits… the X-H1 group will be happy to discuss everything you want to know… feel free to join.

We remind you, that the Fujifilm X-T3 will not have IBIS, so if you shoot a lot in low light with non stabilized lenses, the X-H1 might be the better camera for you.
