Fujifilm X-T4 Coming with X-T200 Mechanism Flippy Screen (and not Panasonic S1H)

[tminus t=”26-02-2020 06:00:00″ style=”TIE-fighter”]

The Fujifilm X-T4 countdown is running

Fujifilm X-T4

Back in November 2019, FR-reader and X-T member J., shared a bunch of details he heard about the Fujifilm X-T4.

Here is his list:

  • X-T4 with IBIS
  • fully articulating flippy…essentially a Panasonic S1H
  • expect a T4 about 1/3 of an inch thicker, and about 5-6oz heavier
  • On a good note expect 6k60 and 10bit internal
  • anamorphic ratio
  • release end of 2020
  • X-H line most likely canceled

I tell you, it’s hard to get all rumors right all the time, especially long term rumors. Sometimes you follow the right hint, but the devil is in the details.

And today, we have to correct such a detail.

According to our trusted sources, the Fujifilm X-T4 will not have the Panasonic S1H flippy screen, but it will use the same mechanism of the Fujifilm X-T200 and Fujifilm X-A7. You can see the difference between the two screens in this article, where you can also vote on which tilt screen design you prefer.

And since J. list has spread like fire on the internet, today on FujiRumors we would like to bring some order in the chaos.

Hence, here is what our sources can confirm, what they say is wrong, and what none of our sources could confirm until now.

  • X-T4 with IBIS – CORRECT however, this comes unsurprisingly, as Fujifilm repeatedly said they will make IBIS smaller and fit it in smaller cameras
  • fully articulating flippy – CORRECT…essentially a Panasonic S1HWRONG it will have Fujifilm X-T200 mechanism
  • expect a T4 about 1/3 of an inch thicker, and about 5-6oz heavier – UNCONFIRMED
  • On a good note expect 6k60 and 10bit internal – WRONGread this rumor
  • anamorphic ratio – UNCONFIRMED
  • release end of 2020 – WRONG you can see date and time of Fujifilm X-T4 announcement in this article
  • X-H line most likely canceled – WRONG (according to our sources and Fujifilm Japan manager statement)

I can assure you, that what FujiRumors says in regard to Fujifilm X-T4 (and all other rumors), is 100% accurate.

Please stay tuned… more big are rumors coming ;).

Fujifilm X-T4: D-Pad or No D-Pad? The Answer in This Article!

I still remember, when back in August 2017, I shared a rumor, that many of you thought is wrong, but it turned out correct: Fujifilm will remove the D-Pad from the Fujifilm X-E3.

Since then, many Fujifilm cameras saw the loss of the D-Pad:

Even the huge Fujifilm GFX100, that definitely has enough real estate to host a D-Pad, didn’t get one.

Well, I am happy to report, that the Fujifilm X-T4 will remain a welcome exception to this trend and keep the D-Pad, just as the X-T3 did.

The Fujifilm X-T4 will be announced February 25/26. You can find the precise X-T4 announcement time in your country here.

Fujifilm X-T4 will NOT shoot 6K Video

Fujifilm X-T4

Back in November, Fujifilm X-T group member J. shared details he heared about the Fujifilm X-T4. You can see the full list here.

One of the features he gave us was 6K 60p video recording.

That rumor took off like crazy, and I saw many giving 6K for a fact already.

However, I have to tell you that this is not correct.

The Fujifilm X-T4 will shoot 4K video, but not 6K.

The Fujifilm X-T4 will be announced February 25/26. You can find the precise X-T4 announcement time in your country here.

Fujifilm Manager About Full Frame vs APS-C, Firmware Updates for X-T3, DSLR vs Mirrorless and Talking Fujifilm X-H2 is like… :)

Fujifilm Manager Interview

The latest Fujicast podcast episode of Kevin Mullins and Neale James just went online.

It’s a special episode from the Fujifilm House of Photography in London with Fujifilm manager Andreas Georghiades.

The podcast is one hour long and you can listen to it here. In this article, we will focus on the Q&A with the Fujifilm manager.

And guess what?

Of course it starts with the Fujifilm full frame evergreen ;).

So the first question is, what is this obsession with APS-C? Full frame would be Fuji’s opportunity to capture the market.

  • There is not really an obsession
  • When Fujifilm first looked at mirrorless, APS-C was the best balanced system in terms of size, weight and image quality
  • Obviously there are advantages to bigger sensors, which is why Fujifilm developed the GFX system
  • bigger sensors also have disadvantages in terms of speed and performance and other things [FujiRumors listed them in this article]
  • that’s why Fujifilm decided to fight on two fronts
  • there is a lot of noise around 35mm. The manager does not call it full frame, as in photography history what was considered full frame always changed. Today it’s just a great marketing terminology
  • if you want high resolution, you can get GFX
  • if you want something smaller and lighter than DSLR, there is the APS-C X series
  • if you go bigger sensor, you also go bigger and more expensive lenses, and you end up with bigger kits
  • Canon, Nikon and Panasonic full frame offering does not give you any benefit in terms of size and weight over DSLR
  • you have to ask yourself the question, why do you go mirrorless. If you want to save size and weight, APS-C is better

How to stay competitive in the market?

Nokishita just spotted the registration for a new Fujifilm battery, the Fujifilm NP-W235.

What is this for?

Well, as FujiRumors already told you several weeks ago, the Fujifilm X-T4 will come with a complete new battery, so not the current NP-W126 and not even the GFX NP-T125 battery.

Now you know the name: Fujifilm NP-W235.

We will know, see and read everything about the Fujifilm X-T4 on this date.

Looks like we were spot on with yet another rumor (thanks to the source!!!).
