Fujfilm Announcement Coming Within 2 Weeks. Fujifilm X-T100, Instax SQ6… and Surprises?

Fujifilm Announcement Coming

On May 26, the Australian store CameraPro will offer a full day event packed with workshops, presentations and hands-on activities and more. If you want to join, check out their eventbrite page here.

In the event description they also write:

Bonus Sessions: A unique photo opportunity and an exclusive first touch and try of a yet to be announced Fuji release will be added in the coming weeks.

Thanks to Tony White from ozlightphoto.com.au for sharing this tidbit with us :) .

So within May 26, we will get a new Fuji gear… but what?

Here on FujiRumors we have rumored the core specs of the Fujifilm X-T3, we talked a lot about the Fujifilm GFX 50R, we even looked far ahead to the Fujifilm GFX 100S, but the most rumored camera at the moment (and hence probably the closest to come) is the Fujifilm X-T100… so let’s talk about it :).

Fujifilm X-T100

We shared the first rumors about the Fujifilm X-T100 back in September 2017. Over the following weeks and months, FujiRumors has shared braking specs of Fujifilm X-T100.

Here are the main specs again for you guys:

  • design similar to X-T20
  • 24 Megapixel Bayer sensor
  • Selfie Screen
  • very affordable

The goal of the Fujifilm X-T100 is to close the gap between the EVF-less Fujifilm X-A5 and Fuji’s mid-range X-Trans cameras like the Fujifilm X-T20 and Fujifilm X-E3.

The direct competitors of the Fujifilm X-T100 are cameras like the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark II and the Sony A6000.

Instax SQ6

Soon Fujifilm will also launch the Instax SQ6, which has already completely leaked here.

Here on FujiRumors we shared the first real life images already back in March 17, 2017 here, so well over a year ago.

The Instax SQ6 is basically the film-only version of the hybrid Instax Square SQ10 and it will take the Instax Square Film.

Surprises?

Of course there could be surprises. Maybe some lenses, such as the XF8-16mmF2.8? Or the XF200mmF2? For sure the X70 successor will NOT come in May.

I will work on it now and let you guys now if I can find out something. So make sure to follow us on Facebook, RSS-feed and Twitter.

Till then… you can dream freely in the comments :).

have a GREAT Day,

Fujifilm X-T2 Firmware 4.00 Download File Leaked at Fujifilm Cina – Full List of Features but DO NOT DOWNLOAD

Fujifilm X-T2 Firmware 4.00

As you know, Fujifilm said they will release a firmware update for the Fujifilm X-T2, GFX, X-Pro2 and X-H1 in May.

Now Fujifilm China has made the firmware file ver. 4.00 available for download here.

We DO NOT RECOMMEND to upgrade your X-T2 until it is available at Fujifilm’s global site here, which currently still shows firmware ver. 3.00.

It looks like somebody at Fujifilm China has pushed the “publish” button too early.

Do NOT upgrade because:

  • Fujifilm could find a last second bug before the official release, and hence fix the bug before the official launch
  • If you download and install the Chinese X-T2 ver. 4.00 now, and if Fujifilm really finds a last second bug and delays firmware 4.00, once the official ver. 4.00 will be out, your camera could have problems to upgrade to the “official” ver. 4.00, since there could be a conflict and your X-T2 will say that firmware 4.00 is already installed.
  • Wait… please wait… it can’t be long anymore… must be a matter of a few days

I do share the information here on FujiRumors about the Chinese firmware leak, because it includes the full list of features the X-T2 will get with firmware ver. 4.00.

Internal Fujifilm Document Predicts 50% Market Share Decrease for Canon and Nikon Within 2021… and About CaNikon’s FF Mirrorless

Canon Vs. Nikon Vs. Fujifilm

** Update: Thom Hogan also things the prediction is BS. Read his article at sansmirrors **

This morning started just as usual.

I woke up at 5:30 AM to prepare my coffee in the fantastic Bialetti Brikka Moka recommended to me by a FR-reader (thanks a ton, a game changer :) ).

Usually I get about 10 emails over night, and I try to reply to all of them as quickly as possible within 6:30 AM, but this morning an email of a source made me almost spill my precious coffee.

I received the information about an internal Fujifilm document that predicts the following scenario:

Phase One Medium Format Camera with 44×33 100 MP BSI Sensor Coming June 2018. Same Sensor of Fujifilm GFX 100S

Phase One is currently marketing an industrial Medium Format camera, that will use Sony’s IMX461 medium with 44×33 backside illuminated sensor.

It seems that delivery is expected for June 2018.

This sensor is the first medium format sensor with BSI technology, and it will be very like the core of the Fujifilm GFX 100S. The Fujifilm GFX 100S itself is expected for 2019.

Before that, Fujifilm will launch the Fujifilm GFX 50R, a very affordable rangefinder alike medium format camera with 50 megapixel.

thanks for the link P. :)
