Fujifilm Adds New Color “Brown” to “INSTAX mini Evo” and USB-C Charging Port

Fujifilm Adds New Color “Brown” to “INSTAX mini Evo”

Introducing USB Type-C as a charging port on both the new “Brown” and existing “Black” variations for added convenience

TOKYO, June 15, 2023 – FUJIFILM Corporation (President and CEO, Representative Director: Teiichi Goto) announces the launch of a new “Brown” version of the “INSTAX mini Evo” (mini Evo), a flagship model of the “INSTAX” series of instant cameras, on June 29, 2023. Additionally, USB Type-C is used as a charging port on both the new “Brown” and the existing “Black” versions for greater convenience.

The mini Evo is a hybrid instant camera incorporating digital technology, and supporting the card-size “mini format film.” Released in 2021, it has been a global sensation since its launch thanks to its hybrid nature of analog and digital capabilities.  It comes with ten lens effects including “Soft Focus” and “Light Leak” as well as ten film effects including “Monochrome” and “Retro.” These two types of effects can be combined freely to create 100 different shooting effects so that users can express their emotions through INSTAX prints. The camera body sports a premium and classical look and is characterized by analog-like operability using the lens dial, film dial and print lever, designed with attention to detail such as operation noise. The dedicated app can be used to connect the camera to a smartphone to enjoy features such as printing images taken on the smartphone, and saving photos printed with the mini Evo as INSTAX-framed images in the smartphone for easy sharing on social media.

mini Evo’s user base will be further expanded with the addition of a new color “Brown”, which means users can choose between the colors while still enjoying the same functions, operability and premium and classical design featured in the original model.

The camera case “Brown” is released at the same time to complement the camera body’s new color variation.

Fujifilm will continue to expand the world of the “INSTAX” instant photo system that allows people to enjoy on-the-spot photo printing.

GOLDMINE RUMOR: Fujifilm Instax Mini EVO Brown and New Instax Square Camera Coming Soon

the brown Fujifilm X100F - an Instax EVO version of it coming soon
the brown Fujifilm X100F – an Instax EVO version of it coming soon

Trusted Sources (thanks!!) have just informed us that Fujifilm is about two launch 2 new Instax Products:

This means one thing: Fujifilm keeps digging into what the Fuji CEO called their new goldmine, the photography business and especially their Instax business.

The brown camera you see in the image above shows the Fujifilm X100F brown edition. The image just serves as a reference on how I’d expect the new color to look like.

Brown Fujifilm X100F Discontinued

Fujifilm X100F

The brown Fujifilm X100F, firstly introduced in some markets, and at some point also in North America and Europe, is now discontinued at many stores.

The silver and black Fujifilm X100F instead are still available everywhere.

Looks like the brown X100F wasn’t well received by the market.

“Theory Says, all Future Fujifilm Cameras will have IBIS” – Fuji X Photographer Jens Krauer at FujiLove Podcast with Hugh Brownstone

Fujifilm X photographer Jens Krauer, who runs the FujiLove podcast, hosted Hugh Brownstone in his latest episode.

Both have excellent connections with Fujifilm, and I’d like to highlight the gear related part of their talk.

  • Hugh fell in love with manual controls on Fujifilm cameras
  • IBIS makes a huge difference for stills and video
  • Hugh is waiting for the Fujifilm X-H2, to replace his Panasonic GH5
  • Jens says that there is a theory floating around, that all Fujifilm cameras will have IBIS
  • Hugh says in this talk to Fujifilm managers, they confirmed him that shrinking IBIS is important, so that they can put it into smaller cameras
  • Hugh says that, if Fuji could, they would put IBIS in an X-T4
  • Hugh prefers the definition “super full frame” instead of “large format” for the Fujifilm GFX
  • Hugh says taking the dials of the GFX100 makes absolute sense
  • Hugh would like a GFX50S with dials and without that brick on the back
  • Jens says he thinks Fujifilm is working on that
  • Hugh says Fuji should refresh their lens lineup to make them more silent and suitable for video
  • Hugh loves the Fujinon MK lenses, although he’d prefer to have 16mm instead of 18mm on the wide end
  • Hugh desires a tilting EVF for Fujifilm’s APS-C cameras [currently only available only on GFX system]
  • His desert island gear would be a Fujifilm X-T3 with XF35mm f/1.4
  • Fujifilm X shooter are different (in the positive way) from fans of other brands, Hugh notices that in the comments to his Fuji reviews compared to Sony etc.

The whole 1+ hour episode is well worth to listen, so head over at sticher or Fujilove.
