Do We Need the Fujifilm X-T2S? :: Is Fuji the New “Old” Leica? :: Best Low Light Fuji Cameras :: Wildlife Photography with X-T2 (miXed zone)

Fellow Fuji X and G shooters,

I really get a terrific amount of emails with requests to be featured on FujiRumors and I want to make everybody happy.

So I have decided to share more miXed zones than we were used in the past. This will allow me to keep roundups smaller (less links) and give you guys an overall better reading experience (I hope).

Also, I’m trying to organize miXed zones in a way that it makes sense, which is why lenses, GFX, X100F and occasionally also RAW converters, accessories and more get a a dedicated roundup.

The new way I orgnize miXed zones also means it might occasionally take a little bit longer before your blog will be featured on FR, but on the other hand, having them better organized will allow you to get a better visibility.

It is a huge amount of work for me, but I’m happy to invest my time to feature you all in the best way possible and to improve your reading experience.

As usual, I’m thankful for feedback… I really try to do my best, and in case you have suggestions, they are always welcome.

What Should Be Fujifilm’s Next Film Simulation? And When Will it Come?

The Next Film Simulation

I get quite regulary emails from readers, asking me what the next film simulation will be and when it will arrive.

I can’t answer these question right now, but we know that Fujifilm is indeed investigating what the next film simulation should be… word of Fujifilm manager here.

So there will be new film simulations. But when will they come?

Usually, Fujifilm introduces new film simulations along with a new sensor and processor. So it’s safe to assume, that we will have to wait for X-Trans IV and X-Processor Pro II to get the next film simulation… and I currently don’t know when this will happen… but not that soon I guess.

So the question today is…. which film simulation should be the next one? Feel free to say it in the comments :)

And if anyone out there knows something I don’t know, feel free to contact me anonymously via rumor box or also via email at fujirumor@gmail.com :)

enjoy your day,

My Ultimate Fujifilm GFX 50S Review after 3 Minutes of Use without Batteries :) :: New TECHART GFX Canon EF Smart Adapter & More – GFX Zone

Brought the GFX to Iceland, lots of awesome stuff came from this trip…

Workshops

Fujifilm GFX

So it happened…. I took the train and left my little mountain village to reach the city. The goal of the trip:

  • print some images I took this summer
  • eat an ice cream
  • meet the GFX

Ice cream had priority of course, and then I proceeded with the rest.

So I went to the photography store to finally meet and hold the Fujifilm GFX 50s for the first time. I had it in my hands, but sadly the battery lasted literally only 3 seconds… I was expecting a better performance ;) .

With the battery down, all I could do was to hold it…. and it felt good, really good. Solid build, rather heavy (with the GF 32-64 on it), but still a comfortable weight to work with and hold it for a longer time, thanks also to the nice protruding grip. No flimsy bending doors, no mushy buttons and overall just a really excellent impression, when it comes to build quality.

And yes, I took off the lens, and stared like hypnotized at that huge sensor… and I thought… do I really need to spend all that money for that surgery at the dentist later this week?

3 minutes, not much longer, and I didn’t take a single picture… but just holding it gave me the impression of huge power and possibilities.

So, if you are interested in the GFX, please do me a favour: go to your local store and hold it, try it out. A million words and images simply can’t beat the experience of having that beast in your hands.

However… until the day comes you can finally meet the GFX by your own… you can enjoy what many talented photographers are producing and sharing with the GFX day after day at our 15,000+ strong GFX facebook group… and some images will be part of today’s GFX zone :)

Fujifilm Vision 2019: “We Work Toward Capturing No.1 Market Share in Premium Mirrorless Market” (Medium-Term Plan VISION2019)

Wow… now that’s an ambitious goal.

Fujifilm just published their new medium-term management plan, called VISION2019, covering a three year period from the fiscal year ending March 2018 (FY2018/3) to the fiscal year ending March 2020 (FY2020/3.).

And regarding their imaging division they write:

  • In digital cameras, work toward capturing No.1 market share in the premium mirrorless camera market, promoting the X Series that continues to evolve with outstanding image quality, fast speed and mobility, alongside the medium-format GFX Series that uses a large sensor, 1.7 times bigger than that of full-frame cameras, to pursue the pinnacle of image quality.
  • Reinforce the lineup of its highly reputable interchangeable lenses to continue to achieve increased revenues and profits in the mirrorless system business as a whole.
  • Broaden the lens business by expanding the lineup of 4K broadcast lenses, launched ahead of the rest of the world, as well as the lineup of lenses for the fast-growing new video production market, including online video.
  • With regard to the “INSTAX” instant camera and film, expand the sales of existing products and promote its square-format products for greater proliferation. Expand printing service solutions with added convenience, e.g. incorporating AI, to boost printing demand from smartphones to maintain the upward trend in profits.
  • FY2020/3 targets: 380 billion yen in revenues, 45 billion yen in operating income and 11.8% in operating income ratio

The competition is obviously very strong, especially from Sony, who are dominating, as we can also see from the AmazonUS mirrorless bestseller charts. But it’s good to see Fujifilm so confident about their present and future products, such as the sensor stabilizied Fujifilm X-T2S and of course the Fujifilm GFX 100S.

And you know what would sound really PREMIUM, too? That XF33mmF1.0!

Now, I want you to get quickly to the comments down below, so I won’t copy & paste the entire long press release here on FujiRumors. But if you want to read more, also about the medical, documents & co solutions and goals, check out the Fujifilm page here.
