Godox V350F for Fujifilm Announced

Godox V350F

Godox has announced the Godox V350F series of flashguns for Fujifilm. They are basically the same as Godox TT350F but now powered by rechargeable Lithium batteries, but you can see a full comparison below (thanks to the FR-reader for the info).

The Godox V350F will be available for pre-order at BHphoto, Adorama, AmazonUS soon.

Fujifilm X-H1 Bug Fix Firmware Update Coming End of March

Fujifilm just announced that they will release a bug fix firmware for the Fujifilm X-H1 soon.

The firmware will fix the following issues:

We have discovered two malfunctions in the recently launched FUJIFILM X-H1. They are as follows:

1. In the EF (E-FRONT CURTAIN SHUTTER) setting, the warning of “TURN OFF THE CAMERA AND TURN ON AGAIN” could appear in rare cases when the FLICKER REDUCTION setting is ON.
2. Switching the CUSTOM setting can make the ISO AUTO setting return back to default when the ISO AUTO setting is changed.

We have identified the cause and plan to release an upgraded firmware to address these malfunctions. This firmware should be available near the end of March 2018.

First of all: thank you guys for making my beloved Fujifilm X-E3 win over my X-T1. You decided, and I will be happy to follow your advice and take the X-E3 with me to Rome.

On the other hand… you decided I have to leave my most loved lens for the X-E3 at home, too… the Fujinon XF27mmF2.8. Well, I’ll keep my word. But for me, the X-E3 and 27mm are a perfect combo.

Anyway, time to give some glory also to this for sure underrated little camera, which lives in the shadow of the much better selling and similar priced Fujifilm X-T20. So here is a dedicated X-E3 roundup, that I hope you will enjoy.

Fujifilm X-H1 Video Autofocus Issue at DR400

As you know, Fujifilm cameras offer the standard DR100, but also extended dynamic range settings DR200 and DR400.

It seems that, when using DR400 there is an issue with the autofocus on the Fujifilm X-H1. Our fantastic X-H1 facebook group is testing and discussing this issue here.

There are two videos I’d like to highlight that show this issue, caused verly likely by the reduced contrast at extended DR settings.

Evidently Something also shows that, compared to the X-T2 and X-T20, also at DR100 the Fujifilm X-H1 video focus is not as good as the other Fujifilm cameras. I guess Fujifilm is aware of this issue and will deliver a firmware update to fix it, as they always do.
