Fujifilm just announced the Instax Mini LiPlay just as planed on June 12 (and FujiRumros told you so).

Well done Fuji, but where is our Instax SP Wide Printer?

FUJINON Premista PL Mount Cine Lenses Cover Fujifilm GFX sensor

Michael Bulbenko from Fujifilm said in an interview (video below) that the recently introduced PL-mount (and super expensive) Fujinon Premista 28-100mm T2.9 and Fujinon Premista 80-250mm T2.9-3.5 cover the Fujifilm GFX100 sensor.

Hence, you can use them with a PL to G mount adapter.

The Fujifilm manager also said, that they do not plan to release a G mount version of their Fujinon Premista lenses.

While talking about the Fujifilm GFX100 color reproduction, Michael says: “as weired as it sounds, we are a film company, so we know how to get colors right“. I like that!

FujiRumors already told you that the same guy, who developed the Velvia film, has been involved also in the Velvia digital film simulation development.

Japanese Camera Market Share: The Rise of Sony, The Decline of All Others and Fujifilm Saved by Instax

Camera Sales in Japan

BCNranking published the market shares changes between April 2018 to March 2019.

Sony sold less cameras but increased the sales value, meaning they are strong in the high end camera segment. All others brands are struggling.

And Fujifilm?

Well, don’t get fooled by the +19,4% increase in camera sales by Fujifilm. As BCN writes:

Fujifilm’s sales were boosted by the strong sales of the digital version Cheki “instax SQUARE” series.”

So it’s once again Insax that keeps Fujifilm’s imaging division afloat. Just look at the top AmazonUS camera products ranking, and you will see tons of Instax products there.

I am afraid that, if we would get a separate report for Fujifilm’s digital imaging division, we would see rather negative figures also at Fujifilm.

Fujifilm Announces New Neopan ACROS 100 II Film – Shipping Fall 2019

Neopan ACROS 100 II

Over the last few years, FujiRumors had to sadly document how Fujifilm was discontinuing one film after another, and raising price on others.

For Acros 100 lovers, the bad news came back in April 2018, when Fujifilm officially announced they will discontinue this much-loved film.

Hope came a couple of months later, when the news arose here, that Fujifilm was considering to bring back Acros 100.

Now Fujifilm finally announced, that they will bring back Acros 100 in fall 2019.

This is made possible, because Fujifilm developed a new Acros 100 II film, by replacing some materials that became difficult to obtain and by adapting the manufacturing process to the new material.

I do hope that Fujifilm can bring back other discontinued film by using new technology and materials, too.
