New Firmware 1.50 for Fringer EF/FX Adapters Released

Fringer has released firmware 1.50 for the Fringer EF-FX Pro II and Fringer EF-FX II smart autofocus adapters.

The main improvements of Fringer EF-FX Pro II & Fringer EF-FX II Version 1.50 include:

  1. Bug fixed: Focal length was always 300mm when using EF300/2.8L II with 1.4X and 2X TCs. Now it’s 420mm for 1.4X and 600mm for 2X.
  2. AF performance of following lens has been improved further.
    EF24-105/4L IS II
  3. Introduced smooth video AF for the following lens.
    EF24-105/4L IS II
  4. Added following lenses to the tested and optimized lens list:
    EF28-135/3.5-5.6 IS USM
    EF50/1.0L
    TAMRON SP 24-70/2.8 VC A007
  5. Bug fixed: Some of TAMRON17-50/2.8 VC B005 were wrongly recognized as SIGMA 17-50/2.8 and cause AF malfunctions

You can download the update file and release notes of EF-FX (Pro) II here. Follow the instructions in the release notes or the user’s manual to upgrade the adapter.

So What, Happy or Not about the Fujifilm X-T4 Flippy Screen? The Final Answer in this Survey!

I must admit, I am confused.

I always thought that most of the people would be happy about the Fujifilm X-T4 having a selfie flippy screen.

But if I look at the recent comments to our Fujifilm X-T4 selfie screen rumor, I am not so sure about that anymore.

So out of curiosity I decided to launch a survey. Vote now, and let us know if Fujifilm made most of us happy or not.

Fujifilm X-T4 Coming with X-T200 Mechanism Flippy Screen (and not Panasonic S1H)

Back in November 2019, FR-reader and X-T member J., shared a bunch of details he heard about the Fujifilm X-T4.

Here is his list:

  • X-T4 with IBIS
  • fully articulating flippy…essentially a Panasonic S1H
  • expect a T4 about 1/3 of an inch thicker, and about 5-6oz heavier
  • On a good note expect 6k60 and 10bit internal
  • anamorphic ratio
  • release end of 2020
  • X-H line most likely canceled

I tell you, it’s hard to get all rumors right all the time, especially long term rumors. Sometimes you follow the right hint, but the devil is in the details.

And today, we have to correct such a detail.

According to our trusted sources, the Fujifilm X-T4 will not have the Panasonic S1H flippy screen, but it will use the same mechanism of the Fujifilm X-T200 and Fujifilm X-A7. You can see the difference between the two screens in this article, where you can also vote on which tilt screen design you prefer.

And since J. list has spread like fire on the internet, today on FujiRumors we would like to bring some order in the chaos.

Hence, here is what our sources can confirm, what they say is wrong, and what none of our sources could confirm until now.

  • X-T4 with IBIS – CORRECT however, this comes unsurprisingly, as Fujifilm repeatedly said they will make IBIS smaller and fit it in smaller cameras
  • fully articulating flippy – CORRECT…essentially a Panasonic S1H – WRONG – it will have Fujifilm X-T200 mechanism
  • expect a T4 about 1/3 of an inch thicker, and about 5-6oz heavier – UNCONFIRMED
  • On a good note expect 6k60 and 10bit internal – WRONG – read this rumor
  • anamorphic ratio – UNCONFIRMED
  • release end of 2020 – WRONG – you can see date and time of Fujifilm X-T4 announcement in this article
  • X-H line most likely canceled – WRONG (according to our sources and Fujifilm Japan manager statement)

I can assure you, that what FujiRumors says in regard to Fujifilm X-T4 (and all other rumors), is 100% accurate.

Fujifilm Tether PRO Plug-in for Adobe Photoshop Now Compatible with macOS Catalina

A few weeks ago, Fujifilm acknowledged compatibility issues of various Fujifilm software with MacOS Catalina.

Fujifilm is working to fix it, and they released updates on November 14 here, on November 28 here, on December 5 here and on January 16 here.

Today, there has been a further update:

February 13, 2020
Compatibility with macOS 10.15 is added. Download them from the website and install them.
With macOS10.15.2, some of functions might not work well because the connection between a camera and Mac can become unstable. So make sure to upgrade the macOS to macOS 10.15.3 or newer.
