RAW Power 3.0 Adds Fujifilm Film Simulations LUT
For those, who missed our original RAW Power article of February 2017 here, the RAW Power app brings Aperture style interface and functions to Mac Photos.
A few days ago, Nik Bhatt, former Aperture developer at Apple, has released RAW Power ver. 3.0. Down below the full list of new features and improvements.
Particulary relevant for Fujifilm users:
- LUTs with Fujifilm Simulations included (and you can import your own)
Fellow FR-reader Fleckintosh did try it out already, and so far it seems to work well.
Remember that back in 2018, Nik also introduced the Lightroom plug-in for RAW Power, which allows you to access RAW Power directly from the Lighroom interface and do non-destructive editing.
See the full list of supported Fujifilm cameras here (no compressed RAW support, only uncompressed).

Fujifilm X-T4 vs Nikon Z6 Focus Tracking Tests using Fringer Adapters and Canon EF 300mm f/2.8L II
Fringer has shared a video, where he compares the performance of the Canon EF300mm f/2.8L II on the (pre-production) Fujifilm X-T4 and the Nikon Z6 using the Fringer smart autofocus adapter.
You can see the video down below.
The results:
- Nikon Z6 at 9 fps: sharp images 20/25
- Fujifilm X-T4 at 14 fps: sharp images 22/25
His overall conclusion:
- When adapting the Canon EF300mm f/2.8L II on the Fringer adapters, both cameras perform very well
- in stills mode, focus tracking is better on the Fujifilm X-T4. The X-T4 has a higher frame rate and also a higher accuracy (88% vs 80%)
- in movie mode both cameras track very well
You can get the Fringer EF-FX Pro II at AmazonUS, BHphoto and Adorama.

Fujifilm X-H1 Snaps Top Winning Image at the World Press Photo Awards, but Canon is Still Top
Ok, this is a mandatory update to our previous post World Press Photo Award post here.
In our previous article, based on the statistics made by thephoblographer, we reported how most of this years’s award winners used Fujifilm and Nikon cameras. ThePhoBlographer writes:
The big winners are Fujifilm and Nikon in terms of camera manufacturers.
More specifically, these were the Fujifilm cameras used: Fujifilm X-H1, X-T3, X-Pro2, GFX100, X100F, X100T, X100S, X100, X-T10)
I was thrilled about it, and reported about it here. And I trusted the great guys over at thephoblographer, who keep delivering great content for the photography community. Honestly I didn’t check it by myself, as today its my birthday, and I have a day planed with my wife at home, cooking and (a bit) drinking ;).
But it turns out, as our fellow FR-readers noticed, the real statistics are a bit different than the one shared at the thephoblographer.
Fujifilm and Nikon are still strongly represented.
In fact, the most prestigious award for the best “General News” image was taken by Yasuyoshi Chiba with his Fujifilm X-H1.
