Fujifilm X-H2S is the Name of the New 26 Megapixel X-H Camera Coming 2022

Long time FR-readers know it: no, the X-H line has not been canceled. On the contrary, Fuji will make it stronger than ever by releasing two Fujifilm X-H2 cameras, one with a new 40MP sensor and the other with a new 26MP sensor.

We also recently reported that the name of one of the two Fujifilm X-H2 cameras will be Fujifilm X-H2s.

Well, we can now say with 100% certainty that the X-H camera featuring the new 26 megapixel sensor will be called Fujifilm X-H2s.

The second X-H camera will sport an all new high resolution 40 megapixel APS-C sensor.

The full Fujifilm X-H2S rumor recap can be found below.

Fujifilm X-H2 and Fujifilm X-H2S will NOT have In-Camera Active Sensor Cooling System

Ok guys,

just a few hours ago we reported about a patent that showed an in-camera active cooling system (as used by Panasonic GH6, Panasonic S1HCanon EOS R5C and Sony FX3).

Of course this generated a spyral of fake rumors claiming that this is for the Fujifilm X-H2 and Fujifilm X-H2S.

So once again let’s FujiRumors set things right and tell you that neither one of the two Fujifilm X-H2 cameras (one of them to be called Fujifilm X-H2S) will have the in-camera active sensor cooling system described in the patent and available on Panasonic S1H & Co.

So no huge fan bump on the backside of the camera with the grid to let the hot air out.

And you know what? Personally I am happy with it.

Speaking of fakes, a little warning: there is an incredible amount fake rumors about the X-H2, that goes from the one that said the X-H line had been canceled to the one we have debunked today. The only correct rumors I’ve read are the ones copied from FujiRumors without quoting FR ;).

I am aware that all these fakes could lead to confusion. And since nobody likes to deliberately get fooled and confused, I’d like to express my huge thanks to our sources, who make sure we don’t get mislead and that if we talk rumors, then at least reliable ones.

Two more things to look forward:

  • there will be lots more rumors here on FujiRumors
  • Nokishita is still active, just elsewhere. So when I am done with my rumors, I’ll hand over to Nokishita to share press release, full specs, etc

Until then, check out the updated X-H2 rumors below.

Fujifilm Patents Active Sensor Cooling System for Cameras with IBIS (but Really for Fujifilm X-H2 and Fujifilm X-H2S?)

Fujifilm has patented an active sensor cooling system using fan and heat sink for cameras featuring IBIS.

These kind of cooling systems are generally used for video centric cameras like the Panasonic GH6 and S1H, the Canon EOS R5C and the Sony FX3.

I know what you are thinking: this must be for the Fujifilm X-H2, which everybody expects to be the video-centric camera of Fujifilm.

But I have learned one thing in all these years: my speculations are not nearly as accurate as the rumors from our sources. This is why I won’t even try it, and just let it there as a patent, waiting for our sources to give us some more solid indication on the Fujifilm X-H2 cameras.

  • Applicant: Fujifilm Corporation
    Published by:P2022055674
    Application number: P 2020163229
    Released:2022-04-08
Name of invention: Imaging equipment and imaging method
  • One embodiment of this disclosure technology is to provide an imaging device and imaging method with image stabilization mechanism.
  • In recent years, image sensors may shoot high-quality videos for a long time. It is preferable to use the imaging device in the appropriate temperature range. Shooting high-quality videos consumes a lot of power, and the heat generation from the imaging device itself exceeds the appropriate temperature range. In long-term high-quality video recording, the imaging device works with protection functions such as forcing the shooting to for the protection of the device itself and the safety of the photographer, such as forcing the shooting to exceed the appropriate temperature range. Therefore, it may not be possible to secure enough shooting time for shooting high-quality videos.
  • In addition, when shooting repeatedly, it is not possible to secure enough shooting time when there is no time interval when the temperature of the imaging device that rose when used last time drops to the appropriate range. In addition, in the imaging device with image stabilization function, it is difficult to dissipate heat generated from the image sensor because the heating image sensor is constantly floating at the time of shooting.
  • In light of the situation described above, in this form, we propose an imaging device and imaging method that can rapidly cool the image sensor and secure the shooting time in the appropriate temperature range after the shooting is over or using the image stabilization function.
  • The imaging unit 100 has three heat pipes 180A to 180C. Heat pipes 180A to 180C are heat transport bodies that transport heat. The end of the heat pipe 180A to 180C is installed in sheet metal 108C of the refrigerator 108. In addition, the other end of the heat pipe 180A to 180C is installed in the heat sink 110. As a result, the heat emitted by the cooling system 108 can be transported from 180A to 180C and cooled by the forced cooling mechanism 46 of the destination.
  • Using heat pipes 180A to 180C, the heat generated from the cooling system 108 can be transported and cooled with the forced cooling mechanism 46 of the destination. As a result, there is no need to prepare a forced cooling system with sheet metal 108C of the cooling system 108, and it is possible to make effective use of the space inside the imaging device 2 of the image sensor 20.

EXCLUSIVE: Upcoming XF18-120mm will have Constant f/4 Aperture

Fujinon XF18-120mm f/4

Back at the Fujifilm X Summit in September 2021, Fujifilm made several announcement which included a new G mount lens roadmap as well as a new X mount lens roadmap.

The X roadmap included the XF18-120mm, which FujiRumors was able to compare in size to other Fujinon XF lenses thanks to the technical sketch Fujifilm gave us during the X summit.

The only hint Fujifilm gave us about this lens, is that it will be “great for stills and video” and that it will come in 2022.

What Fujifilm did not tell us, was how fast Fujifilm would make this lens.

Well, that mystery has now been solved by our top trusted sources, who told us that it will be a Fujinon XF18-120mm f/4 lens.

Take a deep breath guys, as you are now entering a rollercoaster of rumors ;).

Fujifilm Asks What’s Your Favorite Film Simulation (and I Tell You Mine) – #10YearsOfXMount Theme

For the April edition of the #10YearsOfXMount theme, Fujifilm wants to know which one is your favorite film simulation.

So, if you want to let Fujifilm know which one is yours, make sure to share an image on social media, tag it with #10YearsOfXMount and with a bit of luck your image will be featured all over Fuji’s social media channels.

What is my favorite?

Well, that’s a tough question, as it kind of depends on my mood and what I shoot.

Overall, if I’d have to pick one, I’d go for Astia as it has the best balance between vivid colors and nice skin tones. But I also love to use Classic Chrome, or Acros, Velvia, Nostalgic Negative, Provia… the more film simulations I have, the better.

And sometimes it happens that I fall in love with film simulations that I mostly ignored so far.

It was the case with the ProNeg film simulations, which I rarely used overall, at least until I photographed the wedding of my best friend. Out of the 129 images I delivered to him and his wife, the majority of them were in ProNeg Standard or ProNegHi. They just worked so nicely for all the indoor shots.

And that’s actually the point.

I mean, I didn’t use ProNeg a lot before. But having access in post to the film simulation profiles, was a game changer for my editing. It drastically reduced my editing time as all I did was to scroll over the various profiles in Capture One and I could quickly see which film simulation gave me the best colors for each photo. And in many cases, I just noticed that ProNeg was the winner for indoor low light images.

Fuji colors can be a blessing also for RAW shooters sometimes.

Long story short: I shoot mainly Astia, and you?
