Fujifilm Lens Roadmap Updates to be Announced Soon

Share

September 7 (if that’s really the date) will be a terrific Fuji announcements day :)

In addition to the Fujifilm X-E3, the Fujinon XF80mm Macro and the Fujinon GF45mm, I hear that Fujifilm will also release “lens roadmap updates“.

We already leaked the internal G-mount lens roadmap back in April here, and regarding the X-mount lens roadmap, the hottest rumored lenses are the XF200mmF2, the XF8-16mmF2.8 and the XF18mmF2 MKII.

Fujifilm GFX 50S Vs. Nikon D850 Estimated Dynamic Range Comparison

Share

Fujifilm GFX

Photons to Photos has published their first (estiamted) Dynamic Range chart for the just announced Nikon D850, and we can now compare it to the Fujifilm GFX 50s.

The result, as you can see above, is still clearly in favour of the Medium Format Fujifilm GFX 50s compared to the BSI Full Frame Nikon D850 camera.

Seems like the Fujifilm GFX 50s is still the way to go, if you want the ultimate dynamic range. But let’s wait for the real test, and not just the estimate, before we make any conclusions.

Check it out at Photons to Photos.

Fujifilm Firmware Update Will Bring Improved AF-Tracking of X-E3 also to Other X-series Cameras

Fujifilm X-E3

Just yesterday we reported about the rumored improved AF-tracking of the upcoming Fujifilm X-E3.

Some people thought that this could mean there will be some hardware improvements over the X-T2 (faster processor, new sensor etc).

Well, instead of replying to everyone in the comments and on Facebook and Twitter, I think it’s better to say it in a dedicated article: the AF-tracking improvement will be software related only, and Fujifilm will deliver a nice firmware update to bring it to other X-series cameras, too.

So guys, the big Fujifilm Party on September 7 is coming… and I’m ready for an epic live blogging.

Stick around… and stay tuned on Facebook, RSS-feed and Twitter for the latest updates.:)

Rethinking How I Shoot Fuji Jpegs :: How I Process Fuji RAF files – The Power of X-Trans Zone :)

How I Edit / Process Fuji .RAF files at ZedProMedia Youtube

The Power of X-Trans

Fujifilm files are so lovely out of the box, that I find myself processing images way less than I did in my non-Fuji shooter life.

But truth is, I’m not Ken Rockwell, so I don’t get it always right in camera ;).

There are situations, such as recently at my mothers’ 60 years birthday party, were I do not have much time to think about the settings. So many things happen and change all the time, that I rather focus on capturing the moment, knowing that the huge flexibility of my X-Trans files will allow me to correct eventual exposure errors I made in post.

However, processing your RAW files is not only a way to fix some errors, but also a terrific creative tool.

So here is a roundup, dedicated to the power of X-Trans :)
