FujiRumors Reaches 1,000 Youtube Subscribers and Celebrates by Sharing 10 “Hidden” Private Videos on My Birthday

FujiRumors Youtube Channel

I have no idea how this happened, since I basically ignore it, but the FujiRumors youtube channel has reached 1,000 subscribers!

In order to celebrate the 1,000 subscribers mark, I have decided to share a few “hidden” videos that I have uploaded without ever thinking to share them publicly. But today it’s my birthday, so what the heck, I share them :).

So, if for some reason you would like to see me jumping from a 45 feet rock in Santo Domingo, travelling Myanmar on a (scary) train, playing football with friends, walking in my mountians and other things I do in my life, then check out the videos below.

The videos are still and will remain “not listed“, since I do not want to Spam subscribers with personal stuff. I will publish (rarely) only photography related videos, such as real-time coverage from photography fairs.

And once I reach 100,000 subscribers (should be easy, right?) I will start the vlogging more seriously and give you a live stream from my home :).

take care guys,

Fujifilm X-T3: New Features Guide for Firmware 3.00

Fujifilm X-T3 New Features Guide

If I should judge from the amount of emails I have received in the last days, I’d say that you guys were more impatiently waiting for Fujifilm X-T3 firmware 3.00 rather than for Game of Thrones season 8 ;).

I promised you I will be ready to inform you 0.01 seconds after the firmware is published, and so I did.

And as usual, when a major firmware is released, Fujifilm has to update its Owners manual. So download now the Fujifilm X-T3: New Features Guide for Firmware 3.00 (PDF).

Some already asked for animal eye tracking, which is offered by Sony. Well, I remind you that this forgotten Fujifilm digital camera offered pet detection almost 10 years ago, so let’s hope Fujifilm will bring it to the Fujifilm X and GFX series, too.

Fujifilm X-T3 Firmware 3.00 Released

Fujifilm X-T3 Firmware 3.00

Fujifilm X-T3 firmware version 3.00 has just been released. You can download it here.

The firmware update Ver.3.00 from Ver.2.10 incorporates the following issues:

  1. Strengthened the accuracy of face / eye detection AF performance
The AF algorithm has been improved along with the accuracy of face / eye detection AF. The ability to detect faces in the distance has been enhanced by approximately 30% and AF tracking is now more stable, even when an obstacle appears in the way. The improvements in AF are applicable to both still photos and video recording.
  2. New Face Select function
The Face Select function has been introduced to provide priority auto-focus, tracking and exposure on a selected subject when multiple faces have been detected. The priority face can be selected by using the touch screen or focus lever.
  3. Faster AF speed for subjects at a distance
A Double Tap Setting and Touch Function has been added to the touch screen settings*. The two settings must be set to OFF to provide a better touch screen response. These new settings allow a more intuitive touch operation when shooting, AF and focus area select.
  4. Intuitive operation of touch screen
A Double Tap Setting and Touch Function has been added to the touch screen settings(*1). The two settings must be set to OFF to provide a better touch screen response. These new settings allow a more intuitive touch operation when shooting, AF and focus area select.
*1:By default, Touch Screen Setting, Double Tap Setting and Touch Function are set to all OFF. Touch Screen Setting must be set to ON to use the touch screen function.
  5. Focus frame when EYE DETECTION SETTING
When using EYE DETECTION SETTING, only focus frame on eye is displayed.
  6. Improvement of AF/AE area tracking when using EVF
When using the EVF, tracking function for AF/AE area movement by touch screen is improved.
  7. Push function of the Focus stick when INTERVAL TIMER SHOOTING
The push function is disabled when INTERVAL TIMER SHOOTING.
  8. FLICKER REDUCTION function
The options are changed from ON/OFF to ALL FRAMES/FIRST FRAME/OFF. And when choosing FIRST FRAME, the speed of CH countinuous shooting is imroved.
  9. Message when IMAGE TRANSFER ORDER
If there is no image of TRANSFER ORDER when turing on a camera, no message appears.
  10. Fix of slight defects

How to Update Your Fujifilm Camera Firmware using the Camera Remote App and More Firmware Update Tips

Fujifilm Firmware Update

In their wonderful X Summit event, Fujifilm said they have released over 250 firmware updates since the first X series has been launched 8 years ago.

That’s a hefty number, so knowing how to properly update your camera is very important.

In fact, every time an update is released, I get contacted by X shooters having issues with it. In 99,9% of the cases it helps them to read:

But today I’d like to focus on how to update your camera using the Fujifilm camera remote app.

In fact, a Fujifilm manager revealed here that way fewer people than expected (and hoped) update their camera using the App.

And since the manager looked pretty sad about it, I thought I jump in and help a bit by sharing a “How To” guide on FujiRumors.

The update via camera remote is honestly pretty intuitive and straightforward, but the main goal of this article is simply to create a bit of awareness for the in-App-firmware-update-method.

So, if your camera has bluetooth, give it a try, next time your camera gets some Kaizen love.

Oh, and dear Fujifilm X-T3 owners, your camera will be updated in April as Fujifilm said… so you are next :).

So, down below is the guide.
