We confirm everything we said:
That’s quite some impressive specs, right? And such features definitely generate a lot of heat.
So much so that other cameras offering similar specs do have a built-in fan (for example the Panasonic GH6, Panasonic S1H, Canon EOS R5C and Sony FX3).
So how is that possible that the Fujifilm X-H2S won’t have a built-in cooling system as we first rumored here and later we also saw from the leaked images here?
The Nr.1 guess I’ve read in the comments was that Fujifilm would provide some sort of cooling built into the more expensive of the two battery grips to be offered with the Fujifilm X-H2S.
But that’s wrong.
In fact, Fujifilm will offer a dedicated active cooling accessory!
And how does it work?
Well, you attach it to the back of the camera, meaning you will have to flip out the LCD screen, mount it on the back on the camera and then active cooling will be performed.
Smart, isn’t it?
I mean, if you buy the Fujifilm X-H2S predominately for shooting stills, you couldn’t care less about active cooling. And Fujifilm won’t force you to buy a bigger, heavier and more expensive camera with big protruding fan.
With this solution the camera will remain cheaper, more compact and let me say this: more beautiful.
However, if video is your thing, then you have the option of this accessory. You use it (and pay for it) only if you need it.
Brilliant solution in my eyes.
This keeps the X-H line appealing also for stills shooters and makes it a great option also for video shooters.
Pretty much the perfect hybrid camera!

We recently told you that Fujifilm will offer two grip options for the Fujifilm X-H2 cameras (one of the cameras to be called Fujifilm X-H2S – first specs here).
Well, when we shared that rumor, the speculations went really wild. Make sure to check them out here.
Today we can add another puzzle piece to the vertical grip rumors: one grip will be “significantly” more expensive than the other.
So I guess those who speculated one grip will be black and the other silver, were incorrect ;). It looks like there is a lot more to it.

Fujifilm X-H2 Rumor Recap
We have received information, that there will be two different battery grip options for the Fujifilm X-H2 cameras (one of the cameras will be called Fujifilm X-H2S).
I am working on figuring out in detail what the differences will be between the two grips and as soon as I can I will share additional details.

Remember, not only there will be two different vertical battery grips, but there will also be two Fujifilm X-H2 cameras, both having a different (and new) sensor.

UPDATE: Our sources quickly contacted us and said the Fujifilm X-H1 will only be sold as a grip kit from now on
The Fujifilm X-H1 body is now marked as discontinued at BHphoto.
You can still find the X-H1 available bundled with the vertical grip, though.
Other stores, like Adorama, have the Fujifilm X-H1 body still in stock.
Now I hear you say, that the Fujifilm X-H2 is around the corner. Of course I am investigating, and I think I can post an update about the Fujifilm X-H2 pretty soon.
But for now all I can say is: no, there ain’t going to be a Fujifilm X-H2 anytime soon, as we already told you here.

At the last X Summit in February, Fujifilm promised substantial Kaizen firmware love for several cameras to come between spring and summer.
Now the first batch of firmware updates has been released for the first cameras, and it includes autofocus improvements, touch to track AF in video, red frame indicator in video and more. All details below.
