Wasabi NP-W235 Batteries and Charger for Fujifilm X-T4 Available in USA (at a Great Price) plus Patona and Hähnel Batteries

We recently reported about the first third party alternatives to the original NP-W235 batteries for Fujifilm X-T4.

Now more options are joining, among them arguably the most used and loved Fujifilm third party battery in North America, Blue Nook Wasabi, with the Wasabi NP-W235:

The price on the Wasabi NP-W235 is great, especially if you buy two of them along with the charger. It will cost you the same as buying one single original Fujifilm battery. It all comes with a 3 year manufacturer warranty.

I have used my X-T4 during my mini trip in Tuscany. Battery life was rock-solid, and since I own two original NP-W235 Fujifilm batteries already, I do not really see any need to add a third one in my bag.

But it’s nice to see more options joining.

Baxxtar Pro Battery for Fujifilm X-T4 Shipping June 26

As you know, I bought the Fujifilm X-T4 and along with it also an additional original NP-W235 battery and the mandatory BC-W235 dual battery charger.

Thanks to the NP-W235, battery life on the X-T4 has been substantially improved over X-T3.

On my first hike on the Dolomites I came through the day with one battery quite comfortably. Frankly, I don’t think I will ever need more than 2 of these batteries. And probably most of the time, the second battery won’t be even used and stay in my bag just to give peace to my mind.

Hence, I am not in the market for another battery, for now, and that’s good, as those nice NP-W235 batteries aren’t exactly what I would call “affordable”.

But if I’d get a third one, it would probably be a third party battery.

I know a much used (and appreciated) third party battery among Fuji shooters are the Wasabi branded Fujifilm batteries and we already reported here, that Wasabi is working on batteries for Fujifilm X-T4.

But it seems, that the first alternative to the original NP-W235 batteries will be the Baxxtar Pro replacement batteries for Fujifilm X-T4, which can be bought single or in double pack and will start shipping on June 26.

At the moment, the batteries seem to be available only in Europe at AmazonDE here. But it’s probably just a matter of short time now, until a wide variety of third party options will hit the market.

TOP SELLERS (and In Stock): Fujifilm BC-W235 Dual Battery Charger, NP-W235 Battery and Vertical Grip for Fujifilm X-T4

Fujifilm is shipping the X-T4 without an external battery charger (you have to charge batteries via the camera).

Until now, the only option you have to charge your batteries externally, is the Fujifilm’s BC-W235 dual battery charger.

Now, I do not pretend a dual charger with a nice LCD indicator to come in the box along with the X-T4, but at least a simple external charger should have been included. It’s just a practical option to have, for example when you want to charge your spare batteries at home or in the hotel room, while you are out shooting with your X-T4.

This is why I ordered one myself.

But that’s how it is. And so far, at least for Fujifilm, it seems to work well, since (as to expect) people are buying lots of those chargers, and BHphoto even marked it as “#1 Seller“.

The big fat new NP-W235 batteries instead are listed as “Top Seller“. Also the Fujifilm VG-XT4 vertical battery grip is in stock.

Wasabi Currently Working on NP-W235 Battery for Fujifilm X-T4

A FR reader contacted Wasabi/Blue Nook, asking if they plan to release NP-W235 batteries for the Fujifilm X-T4.

This is what Wasabi replied to him:

The factory is currently working on that battery. Unfortunately, we do not have an ETA on when it will be available.

Wasabi is arguably one of the most appreciated third party Fujifilm batteries and chargers manufacturer. I think (but I am not sure), they are sold as Patona in Europe, which is also my third party battery brand of choice.

You know: the Fujifilm X-T4 comes with a brand new NP-W235 battery. They aren’t exactly the most affordable batteries, but considering that they do perform significantly better than the older NP-W126/S batteries for about the same price, I think that they are worth the money. But nice to see Wasabi coming with some more affordable options.
