Fujifilm X-H2 with 8K DCI/UHD Video Coming 2022

As FujiRumors already broke a while ago, the Fujifilm X-H2 will come in 2022.

Of course I am investigating deeper, but today I’d like to share a rumor that has been reported to me by an anoymous source, that contacted me via rumor box.

The anonmyous source told me this:

X-H2 will be capable of 8K video recording, both 8K DCI and 8K UHD

Two things first:

  1. thanks to the source for sharing this tidbit with us
  2. if you (the anonymous source) would like, you can contact me again via rumor box and give yourself a nickname, so I can eventually recognize you in future. Also via email is great [fujirumor@gmail.com]

With that said, of course, as any anonmyous rumor, we invite you to take it with a grain of salt.

However, with the Canon EOS R5 and the Sony A1 entering the 8K territory, it’s also safe to assume that the rumor is correct and that Fujifilm will also join the 8K club sooner or later.

The question at this point is if it will be “just” 8K30p like on full frame cameras, or if the Fujifilm X-H2, thanks to its smaller sensor and hence faster sensor readout, will top them all maybe by offering 8K60p.

Because that’s what happened with the Fujifilm X-T3, which was launched with 4K60p and full frame needed lots of time to finally catch up with the X-T3 specs.

Maybe (speculation, not rumor!!!) the Fujifilm X-H2 will push the boundries of mirrorless video feature even more, stepping ahead of all competitors, just as the X-T3 did back in 2018, when it offered 4K60P long before any full frame camera could do that.

In case I hear anything in this regard, I will let you know here on FujiRumors.

DPReview Compares Adobe Camera Raw vs. Free Capture One Express

As you might or might not know, I did switch to Capture One back in 2019.

  • read here – It Was Inevitable: I am Leaving Lightroom for Capture One Pro

I went for the full version (the one that supports all cameras, not only Fujifilm cameras).

But for those of you who would like to make some basic editing without paying a single penny, Phase One offers Capture One Express for Fujifilm.

Capture One Express obviously does not offer all features of the full version, and you can see a side-by-side comparison of the features on this page.

And yet, DPReview went on to compare subscription based Adobe Camera RAW with the free Capture One Express for Fujifilm version.

Down below the final Pros and Cons they identify for each software.

DPReview Fujinon XF70-300mmF4-5.6 Field Review and Silver Award

DPReview published its field review of the Fujifilm XF 70-300 F4-5.6 R LM OIS WR. The lens gets the silver award.

I am a bit confused, like when they complain about autofocus speed and chromatic aberration, but only if used with the XF 2x TC WR teleconverter. So they put it in the negative list, even though it’s not about the performance of the lens itself.

It’s also a bit confusing how they complain about the lens feeling plasticky, but at the same time they say it is well build and also light. So a Pro (well build and lightweight) turns into a Con (but it’s plastic!!!)

Maybe they just needed to make the Cons list longer and to find a way to complaint about Fuji AF again. I mean, it’s a 2x TC, what did they except?

Anyway, here are their Pros and Cons are:
