Rocket Start: Fujifilm GFX100S Beats Them All and Success Beyond Fuji’s Dreams – NEW SURVEY INCLUDED

Here is the thing:

I keep getting feedback from FR-readers all over the world, about when their local stores will be able to ship the Fujifilm GFX100S. And they all tell me the same: best pre-orders for any GFX camera. Waiting time is long.

I have one on pre-order, too, and I can confirm this also from my local store.

And although waiting is the hardest part, I also know I have tons of X series gear to photograph the wedding of my friend in July (if COVID allows) and to take epic shots of my local mountains, the Dolomites in South Tyrol.

So, I am well equipped and I can wait for the GFX100S, as my X series gear is and will always remain the best balanced system of all systems out there.

So why GFX for me?

Well, because going full frame makes no sense for my needs.

It’s really a negligible difference compared to X-Trans APS-C (and I highlight “X-Trans!”). What I miss from current FF systems is certainly not image quality, but some features like animal AF for example, a feature Fujifilm was offering as first company ever with the Fujifilm F80EXR 12 MP Digital Camera. So Fuji, just take out those old algorithms and make them fit for Fujifilm X and GFX.

If I am looking for a camera that offers me a sensible jump in image quality for my landscape photography, then I better explore the world beyond full frame, with a sensor that is 70% fuller than full frame and camera that is smaller than the full frame Panasonic S1 series and cheaper than the Sony A1.

So, for me, it just makes sense to add the GFX system to my camera bag.

And it seems that many thought this way, as the Fujifilm GFX100S is, according to our latest survey, the most owned Fujifilm GFX camera among the FujiRumors community already

Yep, you heard it right: in just a few weeks the Fujifilm GFX100S surpassed all other Fujifilm GFX cameras in terms of sales here on FR.

This is something Fujifilm wasn’t even dreaming of. Now their Nr.1 challenge will be to ship that good thing.

And since we have so many new Fujifilm GFX100S owners, I was curious to know, which system you are coming from.

Of course, those who pre-ordered the GFX100S qualify as GFX100S owners and hence can vote the survey. You can tick more than 1 box if that applies to you.

Which camear system did you own before buying GFX100S (survey for GFX100S owners only)

Fujifilm GFX100S: 10 Thoughts on Using it for Weddings, 5 Things I Don’t Like and So Sensational, it Should not Exist

There is only one positive thing in having to wait so long for my Fujifilm GFX100S: I have more time to think on which GF lens I should get.

What does not make my waiting easier, though, are all the stellar reviews the Fujifilm GFX100S is getting by photographers all around the world.

Some, like Dollar Store Creative, say it is so sensational that it should not exist and they just cry in front of those amazing files, which can be mistreated to taste and yet keep holding up no matter what.

Others, like Joseph Ellis, used it also for weddings and share their initial thoughts about it (which we will sum up for you below).

And more down below.

If you are like me, hence waiting for yours to be shipped, I warmly invite you NOT to check them out. It won’t make the waiting easier.

BCN Ranking 2020 vs 2019: Fujifilm Resists Best to COVID-19 and Nikon Suffers

The BCN ranking for the year 2020 has been published. BCN collects data of about 40% of the Japanese electronics and online stores.

Every camera company lost sales compared to 2019, however, Fujifilm did best, getting very close to 2019 in terms of sales thanks to the excellent sales of the Fujifilm X-T4, the Fujifilm X-S10 and the Fujifilm X100V. The only flop of 2020 was the Fujifilm X-T200, which is in my opinion the single best entry level camera you can get, but sadly it did not get the success it deserved.

This confirms what a Fujifilm managers already hinted here: Fujifilm did better in 2020 than other brands.

Now let’s look at the data.

BREAKING: Fujifilm X-H2 Will Come in 2022 and be Worth the Wait

Fujifilm X-H2

Ok, my little boy sleeps. So let’s rock it :).

Recently Fujifilm registered a new camera, the FF210001.

The top guess in the comments was that this is the Fujifilm X-H2, and I know why.

In fact, popular youtubers and websites either gave it as a fact or speculated that the Fujifilm X-H2 will come in 2021.

FujiRumors preferred not to join the “X-H2 in 2021” club. What we did, though, is to contact our sources and ask them what they think about it.

Well, according to multiple trusted sources, the Fujifilm X-H2 will come in 2022.

Also, our top trusted Japanese source enthusiastically wrote me it will be “well worth the wait“. We scheduled a skype talk for next days, so I hope to be able to get more details soon and be allowed to share them here on FujiRumors with you guys next.

Looks like the big breakthrough for the Fujifilm X-H2 that Fujifilm was talking about will happen, but still needs a bit more time.

Ah, one more thing: more rumors are coming ;).

Fujifilm X-T4 Anyone

Look, I own the Fujifilm X-T4, and I genuinely think that it’s an fantastic camera with the arguably best value for money ratio of any camera also in 2021.

Also, Fujifilm hinted that autofocus improvements will come via firmware update, so also this could help to make the waiting time for the Fujifilm X-H2 easier.

Good things take time. You want the X-H2 to be amazing. Fujifilm will deliver, but needs just a bit more time for that.
