Many times we X-shooters had to wait more than expected for X-gear to ship… and sometimes the waiting was just ridiculously long, just like in case of the X100S, announced in January, but only widely available in October.

But sometimes…

sometimes even X-shooters are lucky. And in this case the good news comes from mirrorlessrumors.

They say that many companies are delaying the launch and shipping of their products for at least 4 months, due to the Kumamoto earthquake… but not Fujifilm:

And a lucky note on Fuji: They ordered a big lot of the X-T2 sensors made by Sony long before the Kumamoto earthquake. And lucky enough Sony produced most of those sensors before the shutdown in April. Fuji could ship the new X-T2 already now but they prefered to start shipping the cameras in September to reduce the production gab between this first batch of cameras and the second batch that is affected by Sony’s production delay.

Good news, at least for us Fujifilm aficionados. And this might also explain why some stores initially marked the X-T2 as available in August (actually some still say this way), while they now changed to September 8.

Fujifilm X-T2 Roundup :: Video, Sports and Stills… the Best Mirrorless Allrounder?

Lot’s of great feedback about the Fujifilm X-T2 so far. The Stills are great (no surprise), the Autofocus Tracking and Accuracy seems to be vastly improved (see TCSTV Video Review) and big surprise… 4K shooting works. No moiré, no overheating, sharp and nice images.

The Fujifilm X-T2 is Fujifilm’s most complete camera… and if all the initial excellent feedback will get confirmed in future reviews, then it might be one of the best mirrorless allrounder out there… if not the best. And if only the X-Pro2 could get those AF tracking custom settings, too….

So let’s continue our X-T2 Coverage:

Share

Capture One 9.2.1 has just been released. It includes the following X-Pro2 Bug Fixes for Fujifilm X-Pro2 cameras (for Windows users):

• Fixed a crash when importing Fuji X-Pro 2 files
• Fixed a hang when creating a heal layer on X-Pro 2 files

Thank you C1… now please bring us also X-Pro2 lossless RAW support, X-Pro2 metadata support… and official film simulations profiles would be quite nice, too. In the meantime, there is some homebrew film simulations profile over at our Fuji X Forum here (free download).

Just Announced :: Samyang Xeen 135mmT2.2… but Not for Fuji X!

Share

 photo Saymang Xeen 135_zpseglmk5ds.jpg

Do you remember the Big Samyang Blockbuster Teaser of last week? Samyang said they will announce 5 new lenses, one every Monday. So here is the first one, the Saymang Xeen 135mmT2.2 cinema lens.

The Xeen 135 and the 4 more lenses that will be announced in the next weeks, will be available in five different mounts – PL, EF, F, E, and MFT and two different focus scales – metric and imperial units. (Press Release)

Nothing for Fujifilm X-mount native. So if you want to find out what the next lenses will be, I recommend to follow Mirrorlessrumors, who’ll cover these for sure.

But don’t worry… Samyang has already about 15 X-mount lenses to offer. See them all at the Complete Overivew over all existing and upcoming X-mount lenses.
