MOST SOLD LENS Vs. FAVORITE LENS Vs. MOST USED LENS

I recently told you in the “FR-birthday Quiz“, that the [shoplink 13829 ebay]XF 27mmF2.8[/shoplink] is Fuji’s 2nd most sold X-mount lens of all times (until December 2015).

So, many will own the XF27mm, but is it also the 2nd  most used one? That’s what we could discover today thanks to the Poll launched here by FXF Admin Andreas.

Keep In Mind: it’s not about your favorite lens, not even about the lenses you own… this is all about the 2 lenses you use the most overall.

Feel free to drop your vote here.

happy voting :) ,

Impact of the Earthquake in Kumamoto Prefecture on the operations of FUJIFILM Corporation

Share

2000px-Fujifilm_logo.svg

FUJIFILM Corporation expresses its sincerest sympathies and deepest condolences to the people affected by the recent series of earthquakes centered in the Kumamoto region in Japan.

FUJIFILM Kyusyu Co., Ltd., located in Kikuyo-cho, Kumamoto, has been working toward the resumption of its operations in cooperation with Fujifilm group companies and other support companies. Please see below for the progress FUJIFILM Kyusyu has made in resuming operations.

The company commenced trial operations on April 23. As these trial operations proved successful, the company will continue limited operations.

  • Operations have resumed at the first trial facility. Assuming no massive aftershocks and no significant change to the current situations, FUJIFILM Kyusyu estimates that operations will reach the pre-earthquake production levels by the end of May.
  • The company is continuing to inspect the condition of the stock at its warehouse, and has been shipping products that have passed inspection since April 19.

The intensity and frequency of aftershocks are subsiding. FUJIFILM Kyusyu is doing its utmost to resume all operations, and the Fujifilm group will continue to provide all necessary support.

Your continued understanding and cooperation are most gratefully appreciated.

Peter Thoshinsky‎: “Central Booking”
San Francisco, California, 2016

Officer Darla McBride completes primary booking at Central Police Station on Thursday April 21st, 2016.

Going to take a little time to geek out on photography and such.

If you are not interested in the art of photography this will be of zero interest to you.

This image was taken with a Fujifilm X-T1, 18mm f2 (28mm equivalent), shot in RAW, and worked up in Lightroom and monochrome converted in Silver Efex Pro2.

If I were to show you the original image it is bland and flat, as is the nature of a RAW image. This isn’t dis-similar to a straight printed traditional darkroom negative. Mr. Adams himself never displayed a straight print, and neither should you. The straight image does nothing to project the feeling of this dirty, smelly, decades old jail area. The graffiti and cracking of the concrete, the age of the location, are obvious in person. It is not so obvious in the RAW image, or even in a camera boosted jpeg.

It’s a depressing little 12×12 foot tank.

As a photographer we try to express more than a visual representation, we need to present an emotional representation, one that accurately reflects the scene.

That’s the role of a photographer.
