Waiting is the Hardest Part :) – Fujinon XF33mm F1.0, 16-80 F4 and 16 F2.8 Listed at EU Store

New Fujinon Lenses

Weekend curiosity :)

Recently we have asked you in a poll, which one of the new lenses on the Fujifilm XF roadmap you are interested to buy.

Turns out the XF33mmF1.0 is the most desired lens in the community, followed by the XF 16-80mmF4 and las the XF16mmF2.8.

And just like many of us are impatiently waiting for the XF 33mm f/1.0, it seems that stores can’t wait to finally start selling the “world’s first mirrorless lens with F1.0 maximum aperture and AF capability“.

In fact, EU store Cameranu has already listed as available for pre-order the XF 33mm F1.0, which, according to the Fujifilm roadmap, will be available in 2020.

Cameranu also listed the XF 16-80/4 and XF 16/2.8. Down below you can find the product description.

I remind you that, based on technical sketches delivered by Fujifilm, here on FujiRumors you can already find size comparisons between the XF16mmF2.8 and XF16-80mmF4 Vs. other Fujinon lenses.

First Images of Fujifilm Compatible Elinchrom Trigger (Working Protoypes) + Reason for the Long Wait

A new source has just send me the images of the Fujifilm compatible Elinchrom Trigger (working prototpyes), that will be officially launched in September, as we reported here.

This time it really seems that Elinchrom will make it happen :)

I asked the source about the reason for the Fujifilm support delay, and it’s my understanding that Elinchrom knew they had the ELB 500TTL in the pipeline, so they wanted to release the Fujifilm transmitter with TTL from the start to not have to rework shortly after a previous version, plus they wanted to integrated the Rotolight features from the start too.

BREAKING: Fujifilm X-T3 Will Cost Less than Fujifilm X-T2 (less than $1,599) – TRUSTED SOURCE

Fujifilm X-T3 – The Affordable Flagship

Busy news days! Here a few of the articles published in the last 36 hours on FR:

A powerful new sensor, a fast processor, 20fps bursts, packed with many new features, the best Fujifilm X series camera ever made… and yet, the Fujifilm X-T3 won’t be that pricy as one could imagine.

In fact, I have been told by a trusted source (thanks), that the Fujifilm X-T3 will cost less than the Fujifilm X-T2 at it’s current official price tag (without rebates), hence less than $1,599.

$1,499? $1,399? Or even less, maybe $1,299 like the X-T1 launch price? Now that thing starts to be affordable also for my savings account :).

But one thing is sure: competition is a good thing for us customers, since I doubt Fujifilm would have sold the Fujifilm X-T3 for a lower price than X-T2, if the Full Frame Sony A7III would not have hit the market with a $2,000 price tag.

And if the rumor of the X-T3 stacked sensor is true, then the Fujifilm X-T3 is basically a Sony A9 for about 1/3 of the price.

You better hold on tight guys, because a whirlwind of rumors is waiting for you here on FR. Don’t miss it and join us on Facebook, RSS-feed, Instagram and Twitter.

Nikon FF Mirrorless Vs. Fujifilm GFX 50S Size Comparison and See Medium Format Sensor in Nikon FF

Nikoneye.com - Fujifilm GFX 50S Vs. Nikon Full Frame Size Comparison
Nikoneye.com – Fujifilm GFX 50S Vs. Nikon Full Frame Size Comparison
Nikoneye.com – Fujifilm GFX 50S Vs. Nikon with Medium Format Sensor

Nikon FF Vs. Fujifilm MF

Nikoneye.com published the first Fujiiflm GFX 50S Vs. Nikon FF mirrorless size comparison. Check it out here.

If the size comparison is accurate, then we can see that the mount of the Fujifilm GFX 50S is still bigger than the one of the Nikon FF.

Nikon MF Vs. Fujifilm MF

Nikoneye.com also placed the Medium Format sensor of the GFX into the Nikon FF, and we see that Nikon’s mount has enough space to take such a sensor.

An MF sensor in the Nikon body would go right until the edge of the mount (more or less like the FF sensor on the Sony E-mount A7 series).

This could be a problem for an eventual Nikon MF, since it is more difficult to design high quality lenses for a small mount diameter, at least this is what Sigma CEO said back in 2014, when he stated regarding the FF sensor in the Sony E-mount:

It’s a bit more difficult to make ART lenses for the Sony FE system because of the not so large diameter of the mount. We don’t know why Sony did this. Likely because the E-mount was meant for APS-C first and only after that they did use it for FF too.”

If the Sigma CEO is not talking out of turn (and since designing lenses is his job, I guess he knows what he talks about), then the Fujifilm GFX 50S could have an advantage, since it has a larger mount and hence it could make the design of high quality MF lenses easier.

It would be very interesting, though, if Nikon would really adopt one mount for 2 different sensor sizes (and I hope they will).

This would mean that Nikon believes that the Fujifilm GFX 50S medium format concept is interesting and potentially a winning one, and Nikon wants to keep the option open for a Medium Format camera.

Fujifilm is Reaching 50% Mirrorless Camera Market Share and Dominates Sony, Canon & Co… in Narnia Thailand

Fujifilm Domination

There is one country, where like no other, Fujifilm mirrorless cameras are selling like hot cakes and dominate all other brands: Narnia Thailand!

It might seem a phantasy tale, but it’s true.

Today I can share with you the precise numbers of the growth (see below), as well as Fujifilm Thailand’s new goal: 50% market share of the entire compact (they probably mean mirrorless*) interchangeable lens camera market (see above)!

50% market share of the entire mirrorless market might sound foolish, but if you look at the detailed data down below, you will see that they are already not too far away from that goal.

We know that in Thailand the X-A line (and very likely also the X-T100 line) sell incredibly well, 2 lines that in Europe and USA don’t have much appeal (maybe the Fujifilm X-T100 could find some bigger fellowship over here… it certainly deserves one).

* Fujifilm managers said in March 2018 to dpreivew: “In Thailand, our market share for mirrorless is over 40%.”
* Fuji Guys Billy said in February 2017, that “Fujifilm is Nr.1 brand in Thailand“. He does not specify if DSLR is included, but it seems from the video he is including DSLR cameras, too.
* in 2016 a source told me that “Fujifilm was the best-selling MILC in 2015, outselling all the Canon interchangeable lens cameras (DSLR and those EOS-M lines) combined
* a Manager said to Spanish website in 2016, that ““there is a little known fact: in Thailand, for example, X-A series outsells Canon!”
