Steelsring Nikon F to Fujifilm GFX Smart Adapter Coming Soon and Firmware Updates for EF/GFX and C645/GFX Smart Adapters

Steelsring Smart Adapter

Steelsring has announced that their Nikon F to Fujifilm GFX autofocus smart adapter will be available for sale soon. There are already Beta testers out there, who are currently using firmware v1.0 (update on February 26).

Back in May 2018 here, Steelsring also announced the same adapter for Fujifilm X cameras, so let’s hope this one will follow quickly after the GFX version.

Steelsring also release firmware updates for other smart adapters, to improved the AF focus accuracy and stability:

Voigtländer VM-X Close Focus Adapater for Fujifilm X Mount Cameras – First Images

At the CP+, Cosina displayed for the first time their Voigtländer VM-X close focus adapter, which will allow you to use Voigtländer VM and Zeiss ZM lenses on Fujifilm X-mount cameras.

The official Cosina PDF sheet says here – found via dc.watch here

“[google translated] Factorender VM mount and ZEISS ZM mount only. Mount adapter for mounting on Fujifilm X mount body. By incorporating a 4 mm stroke helicoid, it is possible to shoot “closer” from the shortest shooting distance of the lens body.”

FYI: also the Fujifilm X mount Zeiss Touit autofocus trinity is made by Cosina.

Fujinon Lenses

The FujiRumors CP+ 2019 live coverage continues, and this time I have found the answer to the question, when the Fujinon XF16-80mm f/4 and GF 50mm f/3.5 will be released at the Japanese site capa.getnavi here:

  • XF 16-80mmF4 – to be released in fall 2019
  • GF 50mmF3.5 – to be released in fall 2019

Those perfect travel lenses come to late for our summer trips. Digested this bad news? Then let’s move on!

The Japanese site also shared Fujifilm GFX100 images and media slides (in Japanese), but don’t worry, FujiRumors has already leaked them all (and even more in detail) a few weeks ago in this article.

I did translate all the Japanese slides, and there is nothing that we do not know already about the Fujifilm GFX100.. For additional GFX 100 images you can also check out the Polish site optyczne.

What I will translate for you, though, are the media slides of the lenses.
