Fujfiilm X-T4

The Fujifilm X-T4 hit the market a few months ago, but overall passed a bit unnoticed, as, you know, the world was busy handling with other issues in the last few months.

But the X-T series is and remains the one camera line, that gives Fujifilm the biggest financial success, and as a consequence the camera line most X shooters own.

So, today we dedicate a roundup to the Fujifilm X-T4, a camera that is giving great satisfaction to owners (me included).

In today’s roundup, we have:

  • X-T4 feedback we received from FR-reader Tom
  • comparisons with Sony A7III and Panasonic S1H
  • a review from a Sony user perspective
  • a review of X-T4 for wildlife photography
  • and much more

Some of the videos come with handy FujiRumors-made summary ;).

RUMOR: Fujinon XF 50mm f/1.0 Coming 2020 for Around $1,500

Share

I have received word (thanks), that the price of the Fujinon XF50mm f/1.0 should be about $1,500.

Of course the price is one of those things, Fujifilm can change until just a few days before official launch, so take it with a grain of salt for now. But the fact I share it today, means I got multiple confirmation that Fujifilm is targeting that price.

Curiosity: just recently a fellow X-T group member here, asked people how much they think the XF50mmF1.0 will cost. Lots of people guessed a price around $2,000. So for many the rumored price tag will come as a pleasant surprise.

As Fujifilm managers said in various interviews (such as here), the Fujinon XF50mmF1.0 will come in 2020.

In previous coverage about the XF50mmF1.0, such as in this dedicated XF50mmF1.0 article, we got some initial specs:

  • weight under 1 kilo
  • minimum aperture f/16
  • 77 mm filter size
  • more beautiful bokeh than the XF56mm f/1.2
  • first autofocus demo (contrast AF only) at minute 43:07 in the live stream video
  • the final lens will of course support also PDAF

Back in February, Fujifilm managers officially said there will be 4 new lenses within the next 12 months, and thanks to our sources we know that they will be:

The Fujifilm X-Pro3 will Save Photography and More Companies Should Take the Risk to Do Unique Things

Share

GxAce published his Fujifilm X-Pro3 long term review with the title “the camera that will save photography“.

So, why should the X-Pro3 save photography.

in a world of fully articulating screens and in body image stabilization, cameras these days are getting pretty stale to me. They all pretty much look the same and they all pretty much have the same features, except for one: the Fujifilm X-Pro3

I think it’s awesome that Fujifilm basically ignored everything and made a camera that is unique. It’s such a cool idea, what photography needs to be doing to stay relevant.

I hope more camera companies will take risks, do unique things, have unique ideas.

We have reached the point where every cameras is amazing, they all pretty much can do the same things. What I think will be the differentiating factor going on in the future will be how we interface with the camera.
