Fujifilm X Lens Roadmap: Two Fujinon MK II Lenses Coming Between Now and March 2021 plus XF50mmF1.0 and XF70-300mmF4-5.6

You might remember, how back at the awesome Fujifilm X summit in February, the Japanese Fujifilm manager said there will be 4 new lenses coming within the next 12 months.

One of them is the Fujinon XF50mm f/1.0.

FujiRumors investigated, and told you already a few weeks ago, that another one will be the Fujinon XF70-300mm f/4-5.6.

And now, thanks to a trusted source, we can tell you that the remaining two lenses will be Mark II versions of existing lenses.

So, from now to March 2021 we will get:

Whenever I can, I will let you know, which one will be updated (I honestly do not know at this point in time). But don’t miss it when it happens, and follow FujiRumors.

RUMOR: Fujifilm Working on Fujinon XF 70-300mm f/4-5.6

Hey there,

If you follow FujiRumors regularly, you will know about the rumor we shared back in March, saying that Fujifilm is working on a Fujinon XF70-300mm lens.

Many of you asked me which aperture range it will have.

Well, today I can finally disclose it.

Fujifilm will release a Fujinon XF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 lens.

Now, not sure if you remember, but over 1 year ago here, Fujifilm publicy asked the Fujifilm community, which lenses they should make next.

Among the options they offered us to vote, there was a Fujinon XF80-300mm f/4.5-5.6.

Personally I am very happy to see them going for lens slightly wider (70mm instead of 80mm) and faster (f4 instead of f4.5). I prefer it even more than a constant f/4 lens, as that one would be bigger, heavier and more expensive.

I hope Fujifilm will be able to keep it rather compact, like the Sigma 100-400mm.

But I’d love to hear what you guys think, so you can vote the survey down below.

I think this super-telephoto lens fits perfectly in the lens lineup, as a natural follow up the XF16-80mm f/4.

EXCLUSIVE: Fujifilm Working on Fujinon XF 70-300mm X Mount Lens

Fujinon XF 70-300

Hey guys… I have something to tell you ;).

Do you remember, when Fujifilm launched a public survey about future lenses? Well, among all the options there was an XF80-300 lens.

Well, I have an update for you.

According to our sources, Fujifilm is working on a Fujinon XF 70-300mm lens (not XF 80-300, as the official Fujifilm survey showed).

In Full Frame, the Fujinon XF 70-300mm will be about a 100-460mm lens, so you can compare it something like the Sigma 100-400mm.

Makes sense to me: it’s the logical follow up the XF16-80mm f/4.

Sidenote:

Topaz has just released a major update to their Sharpen AI software.

This update will include highly-requested batch processing capabilities. Sharpen AI will also include the ability to selectively apply or remove the sharpening treatment to certain areas in your image.
