I’ve received the rumor (from trusted source) that the new Fujifilm NP-W126 batteries will handle heat better. Less heat generation allows us to shoot 4K and use the full power of the X-T2 (via “boost” function on the Vertical Grip).
I remind you that Fuji Guy Billy said here, the X-Pro2 can’t shoot 4K, because it can’t dissipate heat properly.
No word about higher capacity batteries.
End of the Rumor
As far as I know (but correct me if I’m wrong), the main sources of heat generation are:
Sensor
Processor
Batteries
Writing on SD-cards
Screen/EVF
Heat disspiation is a major problem with mirrorless cameras. Fujifilm could solve all problems, by making the X-T2 camera body significantly larger, but most of us love the compact size of the X-series mirroless cameras.
Also, if you want to maximize the power of the X-T2, you can’t really minimize the heat generated by the sensor, processor, EVF refresh rate or SD-card writing process. So the only thing left where Fujifilm could work on in order to solve the heat-issue are the batteries.
The Instax SP-2 printer is the perfect Icebreaker if you want to connect with locals on your travels or strangers on the street… a must have!
I had some magic moments thanks to the SP-1 printer… here is one:
When I was in Cambodia, I walked through the wonderful fields near Kampot, taking some pics. I met a child, took an image, and handled the print to him. He run to his mother, showed the print, and within minutes I had all the family and relatives and neighbours around me, looking like that prints were magic and asking for a photo.
Then I continued making some photos of them…. then I made some magics for them… then they offered me some sticky rice and a fresh juice.
A perfect moment of my journey… started with a simple print!

Fujifilm just updated its Instax App, and it brings support for the Instax Share SP-2 printer, that will be announced in a few hours.
I remind you that the new Instax SP-2 printer has some highly welcome improvements over the first generation, especially the print quality and the rechargeable batteries!
From my own experience I can say: if you want to connect with locals on your travels or with strangers on the street, this is a perfect Icebreaker!
This item is, for me, a must have, and I will pruchase one, even though I own the first generation wireless printer, because it brings some improvements I always missed in the Instax Share SP-1.
