Fujinon GF 110mm F2 WR LM

The Fujinon GF 110mm F2 WR LM will be announced on April 19. Just two days after my birthday :) .

Earlier this year, the estimated price of the 3 remaining GF lenses, including the Fujinon GF 110mm F2 WR LM, surfaced on the web. I reported about it already in the past here, but here is the rumored price again:

  • GF23mmF4 = $2599
  • GF45mmF2.8 = $1699
  • GF110mmF2 = $2799

Please take them with a grain of salt, not only because they could be wrong, but also because the price leaked a few months ago… enough time for Fujifilm to change the price tag.

My personal guess though, is that you should not be surprised if the GF110mm costs more than $2,800.

Along with the Fujinon GF 110mm F2 WR LM, Fujifilm should also announce the new Instax Square cameras, the already leaked Instax Square SQ and Instax Square SQ10.

The Instax Square SQ10 will be a hybrid digital/film camera. All details here.

DPReview Fujifilm GFX 50S vs Pentax 645Z vs Hasselblad X1D Comparison

Share

DPReivew just published their full comparison between the Fujifilm GFX 50s, Pentax 645z and Hasselblad X1D.

“For a start, a good-looking JPEG can be used as a proof for a client almost as soon as you shoot the image.

Clearly this puts the Pentax and Fujifilm at an advantage, since these companies have more experience of delivering customer-friendly JPEGs. However, the GFX benefits further, not only gaining the results of Fujifilm’s well respected color response in JPEG, but also in that some of that color knowledge has been shared with Adobe, meaning that Film Simulation-simulating profiles are available in Lightroom and Camera Raw, to provide an attractive starting point for processing.

Ultimately, the nearer you can get to your preferred output at the start of the process, the less post-processing you need to do; saving time and money on every image.

[…] Overall, of course, these are exotic pieces of kit. Expensive and, despite the mass-market roots of the Pentax and Fujifilm’s interfaces, still more complex to shoot with than the full frame cameras that are probably the more sensible choice for most mortals, given the price, image quality and performance offered. That said, there’s something special about shooting with such daunting machines, and something that’s likely to immediately impress most would-be clients.”

Check out the whole comparison here at dpreview.

This Fujifilm GFX 50s Roundup is brought to you entirely by the Fujifilm GFX facebook group, biggest source of inspiration for FujiRumors (and Co :) )

Fujifilm GFX 50s Review

Sebastian Lee (check out his instagram) is a very active Fujifilm GFX facebook group member, who shared many awesome images on the group and I had the pleasure to feature here on FujiRumors already.

Well, he now completed his Fujifilm GFX review, and it’s a great real world review that includes also wonderful images. And btw, he uses also a Sony A7rII (oh, well, he sold it now :) ) and could also test the Hasselblad X1D.

You can read his review at sebimagery here. Here an excerpt:

But I must tell you…there is something about it [the look of the images]. […] I’m just very pleased with the images coming out of the GFX. Now keep in mind my day to day camera is a 42MP Sony A7R2. This is only a 8MP bump going to the GFX. But there’s just (enter W. Shatner voice) some….thing about the images. Hell…maybe there is some magic after all?

[…]

Maybe I’m just becoming a better photographer….haha…nah it’s gotta be magic. Maybe it’s just a illusion in my head. I simply don’t care…I’m really enjoying this camera and right now it looks like I’m going to be buying one. I took the first step and sold my A7R2 last week.

Are my photos any better? Nope I don’t think so. Are they a little sharper…yeah…the details are better and sharper by a little bit. I look at 200% and 300% shots and I’m constantly impressed with the images and I simply enjoy shooting with it. But it’s not twice as good….

[…] for portraits, macro/detail and land/cityscapes…this thing is a beast!

[…] And yeah, I get it, $10,000 for a body and two lenses is a significant investment and again…that magic question to most…”is it worth it?”. That’s up to you…for this dude….yeah…it’s totally f***ing worth it.”

Fujifilm X-E3 Poll

Share

Fuji X Forum member Jano just invited us to vote on his X-E3 poll at the forum.

With our hopes high that Fuji is actually working on an X-E3 now, I’ve been thinking a lot about what I would want the X-E3 to be like and for which features I am actually willing (and able) to pay.

Since I’ve read all sorts of things about what people want ranging from “as cheap as possible” to “make it an X-T2 in rangefinder format” I decided to make a poll to collect all those opinions in a meaningful way.

I am hoping that many people here (and from FR) participate so that I can generate some interesting statistics from the data. Patrick has done some polls but without a bit of background information I believe the value of those polls is quite low (sorry, Patrick ;-)

I am planning to leave it open for about a week and then do an analysis which I will of course publish here in the forum or maybe as a guest post on FR.”

I liked the poll and I already did my homework (it took me not longer than 2 minutes). Can’t wait for the results next week :)

You can go to the forum to get the link and discuss the poll with Jano, or here is the direct google docs link.

The Fujifilm X-E3 will come this year, maybe this fall.

enjoy your Sunday…
