Fellow Fuji X and G shooters,

I really get a terrific amount of emails with requests to be featured on FujiRumors and I want to make everybody happy. So I have decided to share more miXed zones than we were used in the past. This will allow me to keep roundups smaller (less links) and give you guys an overall better reading experience (I hope).

Also, I’m trying to organize miXed zones in a way that it makes sense, which is why lenses, GFX, X100F and occasionally also RAW converters, accessories and more get a a dedicated roundup.

It’s quite a lot of work for me, but I’m happy to invest my time to feature you all and to improve your reading experience.

As usual, I’m thankful for feedback… I really try to do my best, and in case you have suggestions, they are always welcome.

Now back to today’s roundup, which is dedicated to the heart of every system: the lenses!

UPDATE: Fujifilm changed the name from X-T2s to X-H1. All rumored specs remain the same

Ok guys… here is another nice rumor for you.

I would like to inform you that the successor of the Fujifilm X-T2 will be called Fujifilm X-T2s ♥.

At this point, some of you might remember, when I once said that Fujifilm will release an X-Pro1s, which evidently never materialized. Fujifilm even had working prototypes of it, as they officially showed here, but then they scratched the concept in the last second, skipped it, and waited for the X-Pro2 to be ready.

At this stage, though, I don’t think the X-T2s will have the same fate of the X-Pro1s. Fujifilm seems very convinced of the project, and this makes me very confident to share it here on FujiRumors.

Now, I like to imagine many of you guys somewhere on holidays, relaxing with a beer on a beach or admiring a great panorama from the top of a mountain. And I really do not want to disturb you too much.

But I have the feeling that it could be worth to tune into FujiRumors now and then also from your holidays in the next couple of weeks. Sure, I’m aware that no rumor on earth can beat a good beer on the beach, but I’m working hard to try to give you a little fun time also here on FujiRumors ;) .

If you are new to the Fujifilm world, and would like to get a basic overview over the main differences between these two cameras, then you might find this video useful.

Right at the beginning, Billy says that the Fujifilm X-T2 and X-T20 are their most popular cameras (but we know the Fujifilm X-E3 will change that :) )

The video was shot in 4K with the Fujifilm X-T20 (4K with half line skipping, so no full resolution, but also no crop). Oh, and Billy, keep up your fight with Japan for 4K in X-Pro2 :) . You can check out the full Fuji Guys video on youtube here.

Fujifilm X-E3: No Tilt Screen (Poll – Dealbreaker?)

Ok… despite knowing that Fujifilm can change plans rather quickly, I feel pretty confident to announce, that the Fujifilm X-E3 will not have a tilt screen.

So, Fujifilm remains loyal to their philosophy to keep the tilt screen out of their rangefinder styled cameras.

My tilt-experience?

I might use the tilt-screen on my Fujifilm X-T1 maybe only in 5% of the images I take, but in those 5% tilting the screen makes my life a lot easier. So overall a tilt screen on the X-E3 would be something “nice to have” for me.

Based on the feedback of you guys in previous X-E3 rumors, and especially based on Jano’s huge work and X-E3 poll here , there are other (more or less) “nice to have” features… and of course some won’t be part of the Fujifilm X-E3:

  • dual UHS-II SD-card slot
  • weather sealing
  • 4K video
  • tilt screen
  • touch screen
  • AF-C Custom Settings presets
  • Bigger EVF
  • Dual-function ISO Dial
  • Joystick
  • Front Command Dial
  • IBIS

Shameless use of FujiRumors (and your time) for a personal tripod help request

2 weeks ago I travelled for the first time 7 days (through South Italy) without a tripod. I sold mine to a friend (whom I also convinced to purchase a Fujifilm X-T20).

As you can see me here, I sometimes missed my old tripod (even though I had the XF 18-135 with an insane OIS – the other lenses I brought with me where the 35/1.4 and 12 Samyang) . Now I’m looking for a compact and light carbon travel tripod to replace it… recommendations welcome in the comments.

My Top Tripod Criteria:

  • No super expensive tripods: I’m a low-budget backpack traveller. So I often travel in cheap trains and busses, sleep in hostel dormitories and so forth. I don’t want to have a $1000 Gitzo tripod in my bag. I’d be afraid to leave my bag alone even to go to the toilet, scared it gets stolen. I’m ready to pay a fair price for a good tripod, but no super expensive options.
  • Compact: Damn… so it happens also to me… I’m getting older. And I now appreciate every space and weight I can safe while travelling. So only compact solutions will be considered for my pruchase (and since I travel with a light mirrorless camera and small lenses, it does not have to be the sturdiest tripod on earth).

I read the techradar article I’ve linked above… but it would be great if you would list your favorite light carbon fiber tripod in the comments below.
