It’s Christmas time. Time for wishlists and dreams.

And here on FujiRumors this means wishing and dreaming of gear that, if not this year, Santa Claus will hopefully make find us under the Christmas tree for 2024.

So here is a selection of wishes that I have received from FujiRumors community and that I now I am happy to share with all of you. Feel free to let us know if there is something among it that you’d really love to get.

I sort of made my own wishlist too, where I talk about three cameras that would push Fujifilm overnight exactly where they dreamed to be by 2019. Dear Fujifilm, listen to me, and Canon, Sony and Nikon will tremble!

Feel free to read (and watch) it all down below.

We REALLY should push Fuji to release a fixed lens, compact as possible GFX100X camera, ie: a medium format X100V type street camera. They would be unable to meet demand, even if they priced it high enough not to detract from the GFX100S/ll cameras.

I saw on Sony image sensor website, that Sony introduced a new 35mm sensor, name is IMX366, you can find this officially. this sensors offers 44Mpixel with 26 fps at 4,46886 um pixel size and BSI.

I think Fuji is a good Sony customer. So it would be possible for Fuji to ask Sony for creating a same sensor architecture for medium format. In small Medium format this sensor could have a resolution of exactly: 9816 * 7362 pixel, => 72 mega pixel. => my favorite is a GFX72H camera with 72 megapixel, 20 fps, nearly same autofocus than GFX100II, same IBIS (8stops) in a housing like the older GFX50S.

An good option would be than Sony will change the sensor interface from 26fps and 14 bit into 13fps and 15 bit.

Can i give you a suggestion on a user poll? Should Fujifilm put out special editions of the x100v given supply and demand issues?

It would be a way for them to continue the buzz by providing additional accessories (leather cases etc), colorways/finishes as well as limited packaging allowing them to build on influencer demand by introducing limited editions. And given x100v is selling at a premium it would be a way for them to generate additional revenue etc.

Anyway just a thought. Thank you for all your hard work on this site. Its been an outstanding resource for me and so many others. Its very appreciated.

Should Fujifilm put out special editions of the X100V

by Tom – Fujifilm Fantasies – Ideas from a Professional User

Patrick,

I’m a pro photographer and seven year veteran of the X series camera system. I’m currently using a pair of X-T4’s and an X-E3 with a pretty nice collection of mostly fast primes (and the beast 150-600). I have not been motivated to upgrade cameras for the last few years because the X-T4’s have been so reliable and fun to use.

These are my fantasy Fuji products that would motivate me to expand my collection. I thought since there is no new XF roadmap I’d offer my ideas.

  • Medium format X100

Call it the X100G or X100M
X100 series camera with GFX sensor
Fixed lens and compact, gateway to GFX system. I think this would be a hot seller for those wanting everything an x100 offers but with a step up in image quality. I’d buy one.

  • XF 135mm F2 LM WR

I love the XF 90mm for its compactness, fast AF, and great IQ. But it always seems to be too long for portraits and too short for action/wildlife. Thus I have always wanted a similar lens, slightly larger okay, at a fixed 200mm equivalent focal length. 2.8 or even f4 would be okay. Overall I wish there were more lenses built like the 90 with LM. The new 56mm 1.2 WR missed an opportunity for such an update, or at least a stiffer aperture ring. I own the new 56 and love the images but hate the handling and AF motor. I sold my 90 when I got the new 56, but now I miss it.

  • X-E5 Pro

This has been talked about a lot. In a new generation XE, add WR, IBIS, and the new style batteries. Fifth gen 40mp sensor. Keeping it more compact and affordable. Push the X Pro line into an even more premium category. Then we could have XH/XT SLR style and XPro/XE rangefinders at their respective price points. All with WR , IBIS, big batteries.

  • Bring back the MHG Arca Grips!

The only flaw with my XT4s is the grip. I have carpal tunnel and long shoots can be a challenge on my wrist. I have tried every third party grip to no avail. The big battery grip is great with the big 150-600 but makes the camera too tall for every day use with small lenses. Thus, I’d like to see the MHG lines of arca plate grips come back to all levels of cameras. I loved them when I had XT3s and have one on my XE3 always.

  • An Astrophotography Lens

Currently the 16mm 1.4 is the best Fuji lens for milky way astrophotography. But, it’s far from perfect and not quite wide enough. I’d like to see an overhaul of the 14mm or even a brand new 12mm fujicron to cover this need as well as interior architectural photography. I feel like vloggers would love it too.

  • XF 50-140 f2.8 mkII

I had the 50-140 for several years and it was a workhorse on countless shoots. I sold it in 2021 due to some complaints. For one, the OIS tended to eat batteries way too quickly. There was a wedding in the desert I shot with it and I went through 6 XT4 batteries in a day because of that lens. It was worse on the XT3 and cameras with the small batteries. After that i went back to fast primes with only IBIS and rarely need more than 1-2 batteries in a day. An update to this lens with an upgraded OIS and AF system would be fantastic. Slightly refined optics with better bokeh would be great too. And less of that unsettling clunk of the internal elements.
