VIDEO: FujiRumors HAS WHAT YOU WANT :: New X-T1 4.0 FIRMWARE FILE :: For the sake of Science, I’ll test if for you ;)

 photo 4.0 FW XT1_zpszq9nuxqn.jpg

A French FujiRumors reader spotted the Firmware 4.0 file on Facebook… and for the sake of science, I decided to update My Own X-T1 with Firmware 4.0 and test if it works :)

It’s really late at night here, and I will do proper testings tomorrow. But it’s pretty nice to see how well it tracks my dog ;).

IMPORTANT NOTE: Although the file is circulating on facebook, I decided to remove it.

ADOBE says: “We will improve X-TRANS detail rendering and overall edge definition.” – PS CC, LR CC and LR6 Updated

By FR-reader EvG (Files in the Comments): “The improvement is there, it’s not a big one though. The colors get more saturated and high contrast transitions loose the white halos. Here are couple of images that I just edited yesterday before the update, and exported today again after update (those are from raw files from slrclub review of xf 10-24)

_ _ _

For the first time, there is an official statement of Adobe to what belongs their X-Trans demosaicing:

We have reduced “color blur” artifacts when processing Fujifilm X-Trans raw images. In collaboration with Fujifilm, we are still investigating methods to improve fine detail rendering and overall edge definition.”

So we have already one improvement, and more will come. I guess we now also have the answer to the question FXF Member FabX, who asked: “is there any sign or news of improvements in LR6 regardnig X-trans treatment?” Yes, finally :) .

Adobe also updated PhotoShop CC, Lightroom CC and Lightroom 6.1 with new features (but not for LR6 – no new features for the standalone version), and adds support for the Fujifilm X-T10.

The X-T1 Firmware 4.0 coming on June 25

 photo KAIZEN_zps1fdb780f.png

A source, who was right in the past, and is on the best way to become trusted, told me that the Fuji manager, who said the firmware will come on the 22, is wrong, and the firmware will come on the 25th, as usual early in the morning London Time… of course if Fuji doesn’t find a last second bug ;)

I have no reason to doubt this source, and if this rumor is correct too, it will become a trusted source. For me, the new release date is the 25.

Oh, just to let you know:

– Fuji Manager: “FW 4 will come on the 22”
– Fuji France: “FW 4 will come on the 21”
– FujiRumors: “FW 4 will come on the 25”

at least we agree on “late June” ;)

Fuji France says FW 4 will come on the 21… that’s not the information I have, though

Fujifilm X-T2 coming pretty soon after the Fujfilm X-PRO2 (source right in the past)

 photo comparison_zpsqgtcwkhv.jpg

A source, who was right in the past, told us that the X-T2 will be announced from 2 to 4 months after the X-PRO2. Remember, the X-PRO2 announcement could be in late 2015 (according to this rumor).

It all looks like we are going to have an epic battle: X-PRO2 Vs. X-T2, Rangefinder Vs. DSLR-shape, HVF Vs. EVF…

FXF discussion: If the X-PRO2 and X-T2 were both released tomorrow, which one would you go for?

RUMOR: Fuji X Flash delayed because of Metz insolvency! (New Source)

 photo ddddd_zpsga0rmo0s.png

Flash Photography with the Fuji X system?
It can be done, but more flash-options are needed!

_ _ _

I’ve just received an email from a new source, with a bad news. And I’m afraid it’s true!

The source said that, during a Fuji event in Canada, a Fuji Guy told him that the long expected (and urgently needed) flash will be delayed, hence not come this spring as told us last year by a trusted source.

So was the trusted source wrong? No, it wasn’t. It’s just another case of a rumor shared too early. Fuji’s plan really was to launch this flash (rumored to be made by Metz) in spring, but the insolvency of Metz has changed everything…. the release of the flash has been pushed back.

I have no information about the fact if Fuji will continue to cooperate with Metz or if they are looking for a new partner, altough there are hints that they are looking at companies like Sunpak (see Sunpack Flash on Amazon).
