Yesterday, Fujifilm Australia invited via facebook Fuji fans at the The Digital Show this weekend from 16 to 18 October. They end the post writing:

“p.s. New product announcement to be expected! See you there!”

So what, will Fujifilm announce the 1.4x Teleconverter and 35mmF2 already tomorrow (or within the 18th)? I can’t see Fuji announcing new gear on Saturday or Sunday. IIRC, they never did that so far. So the 16th of October is the hottest candidate.

In the meantime, also digicame-info confirms: Fujfiilm will announce the 35mmF2 and 1.4x Teleconverter “soon”.

This is one of my favorite rumors of 2015. On April 20 a New Source told us Fujifilm is considering to produce a Super-Fast 1.0 lens (around 30mm). We all took the grain of salt… and started hoping.

Luckily, about a month later, on May 25, a source, who was right in the past, confirmed that Fujifilm has a 33mmF1.0 on the radar, but they were still discussing if they should really make it. Will the X-shooter community buy such a lens?

We tried to help Fujifilm in their decision, and dropped our vote in the following polls:

And we waited… patiently.

So what, did Fuji finally made its decision? According to a trusted source: Yes, the die is cast! And the answer is….

… drum roll…

Yes! Fuji will produce it!

When will it come? I still don’t know, but you can be sure I’ll put my best into it not only to get multiple confirmation about this rumor, but also to give you an expected release date as soon as possible!

So how big is the upcoming XF 35mmF2 compared to the XF 35mmF1.4? Fujirumors reader Jano & Lilla Lalla made their own comparisons and shared them with the FR-community (thanks!). And here are their results:

FR-reader STJN (thanks a lot!) dropped me a link to some samples taken with the upcoming XF35mmF2 at PCHstore – here in French (translation)! NOTE: also the already rumored price of €399 seems to be correct :-) .

A message landet in my rumor box, from an anonymous source (thanks!), and it shared the answer to one big question about the imminent XF35mmF2… how much will it cost?

Well, according to the source, the price of the XF35mmF2 will be very attractive. It will cost:

€399!

I also got another hint (anonmyous source with nick-name, thanks!) unveiling the price of the 1.4x Teleconverter. It should be of € 449. Not really a bargain, but I’m sure it will deliver great results !

Consider that there might be slight variations according to the EU-country. But in any case, if the information is correct, the 35mmF2 has a really interesting price tag. It will be even cheaper than the XF27mmF2.8 (regular price)!
