The Complete Sony a6500 vs. Fujifilm X-T2 Comparison :: Fujifilm GFX 50s Vs. Hasselblad X1D Studio Scene Comparison

Sony A6500 Vs Fujifilm X-T2

Mat & Heather from Mirrorlessons just shared their complete comparison between the Fujifilm X-T2 Vs. Sony A6500. It’s as usual a very well done and detailed comparison. From the handling, the controls, the menu, the viewfinder, autofocus, and of course also high ISO, dynamic range and image quality overall. Excellent work, Mirrorlessons!

And who’s the winner? Well, it depends. Mirrorlessons says:

Choose the Sony a6500 if:

  • you want better video features (picture profiles, 120fps in Full HD, etc.)
  • you want to take advantage of 5-axis stabilisation with lenses that lack OSS
  • you can’t live without a touch screen (works for the AF only)
  • you want a more compact body

Choose the Fujifilm X-T2 if:

  • you want better usability thanks to the numerous dials and dual SD card slot
  • you want a larger EVF (it’s one of the best on the market)
  • you want a better selection of APS-C lenses
  • you like the idea of “downloading” a new camera every now and then

Read (and enjoy) the full comparison at mirrorlessons here.

Fujifilm GFX Vs. Hasselblad X1D

As probably many of you guys, I’m also curious about the ongoing Hasselblad X1D review at dpreview. They just shared their first impressions, and what’s relevant for Fuji Lovers, is that their studio scene samples now include also the Hasselblad X1D.

So yes, it’s time to pixel peep and compare the Hasselblad X1D (specs&price) with the Fujifilm GFX 50s (specs&price).

Although, I remind you that Fujifilm said that current Fujinon GF lenses are not used at their full potential, since they are designed to to resolve 100+ Megapixel. So it will be interesting to see if, once the 100 megapixel BSI Medium Format sensor comes true, the results will be still quite close or if the Fujinon glass will then start to shine and set apart the competition :)

So, check out the the Hasselblad First Impressions of dpreview here. And for the pixel peeping, go to their studio samples here.

Fujifilm GFX Roundup

L-Brackets

Fujifilm GFX facebook member Bruce bought the FLM L bracket and shared the images here on the group. He writes:

Trying to come up with a decent L bracket for the GFX, given the massive battery door I can’t see a custom one working. I bought this FLM L bracket which is likely as good as it can get. If you find something better let me know. I mount the bracket with a gap so I can access ports for the remote release. A bit of a kludge

Other L-brackets in the works for GFX and that will come out soon are the Custom Kir L plate and the one made by Really Right Stuff.

X-T2 Video with Zhiyun Crane and Blackmagic Video Assist :: X-TransIII (X-T2) Vs. Bayer (A7II) Texture & Detail Comparison (miXed zone 2/2)

Fujifilm X-T2 Videos
USA: BHphoto / AmazonUS / Adorama

Since the launch of the X-T2 last year, we have all learned how good the 4K video on the X-T2 is. Now, I will not bore you again with cold video tests and comparisons. At this point it’s far more interesting to see what creative photographers and videographers can produce with it.

One of those photographers is Kjetil Kevin Madsen. He made a series of videos using a Fujifilm X-T2 with a Zheyun Crane and Blackmagic Video Assist.

He shared his experience and the videos in his blog post: “Shooting video with the Fujifilm X-T2, Zhiyun Crane and Blackmagic Video Assist” at kjetilkvienmadsen

Fujifilm X-Trans III vs. Bayer (X-T2 with Fujinon 56mm f1.2 APD against the Sony A7II with Zeiss Batis 85mm f1.8) – Texture & Detail Comparison at thephotofundamentalist: “What I have personally concluded is that when a top quality 24MP Full-Frame sensor and the 24 MP APS-C X-Trans III are compared using vaguely comparable lenses, the results at low ISOs are very close indeed when using Adobe Lightroom CC.”

Fujifilm X-T1 WPJA Award

French wedding photographer Bogarte has been awarded by WPJA (wedding photojournalist association) with 2 pictures shot with his X-T1 and XF16mm 1.4.
