$2061 donated to KNGO thanks to X-shooters, who bought the MICHELLE OBAMA Approved X-shirts :)

 photo tonle clothes_zpsniqvrojm.jpg

As promised, I didn’t keep a single penny for myself, and therefore Tonlé was able to make the first donation of $2061 to KNGO (XL shirts sales of June not included… a second donation will be made soon).

We are on the good road to achieve our first goal, which is to pay all teachers at KNGO a higher salary for their incredible work. The final goal remains the classroom, but for that we need to sell more X-shirts. Feel free to support the project: Small, Medium and Large are still available here.

Thank You. Thanks to those who bought an X-shirt. I hope that one day I’ll meet someone, somewhere, walking on the streets with an X-shirt… and you can be sure I’ll stop you and offer you a good beer ;)

And what about Michelle Obama?

Well, the US X-shirts are made by Tonlé, and all you have to know about this amazing workshop is packed in this short & creative video. The thing is that Michelle Obama was in Cambodia and also knows about Tonlé and its incredible work. Michelle admired the work of Tonlé (who wouldn’t?) and wrote to Rachel (founder of Tonlé) the following letter:

sorry, I took that pic with my iPhone

Hi, I’m the Fuji-tive, and who are you? From now on, direct links to your FXF profile. Feel free to present yourself to the X-world :)

 photo fujia_zpstmumwwyu.jpg
 photo aaaaee_zpsqwl9w8gm.png

I’m The Fuji-tive, so I can’t share too many details on my personal FXF profile ;). But for all the others, it could be worth to take a few minutes and fill it in properly.

And here is why:

Starting from the next “Best of FXF zone” (see episode 1, 2 and 3), I’ll link DIRECTLY to the FXF Profile of those Forum Members, who have launched a hot thread or shared a top voted image.

So, if you want, you can introduce yourself to fellow X-shooters in your FXF Profile and also share your own blog, portfolio, Flickr account, contact details and more.

And today, one month after the Fuji X Forum launch, allow me to express my thanks to:

1) Thanks to all those, who already joined the FXF. It’s great to see how quickly a friendly community is coming together. I’m having lots of fun there and learn (and share) many things… feel free to join us, too.

2) Sure, when the Admin of the 5 years old German Fuji-X-Forum and my humble self decided to cooperate and launch the English FXF sister Forum, I knew that I was in professional hands: he had the knowledge, the experience, the workflow, was familiar with the forum software and more… but the reality even exceeded my expectation. He’s working hard and meticulously, always ready for a Skype call, quick replies to emails and has great ideas for the future of the Forum! Just Amazing! Thanks, FX Admin!

That’s it… I’ll now prepare the next “Best of FXF zone“, which should go online soon.

Travel-X This Summer… and a few things you should Put in Your Bag – Battery Charger Adapter, Photo Books & more!

_ _ _

I can feel it…

I feel the lightness, I feel the happiness, I feel the promise of endless possibilities and more time (finally!!) to go out and shoot… or in short: School Is Almost Over, Holidays are Near (ok, apart from FujiRumors, that, don’t worry, will run non stop as always, wherever I’ll be ;) .)

Ok, time to organize my travel and to think what I should not miss to bring with me. Of course, my X-T1 and a few lenses (not more than 3!).

But what else could I need?

I’ve checked out the various topics on our New Fuji X Forum, and found some interesting stuff, good for travels, that I would like to share also on FujiRumors.

POWER ADAPTER FOR FUJI’S BATTERY CHARGER
shared by FXF Member Prabbit

Why take that cable on holidays? Let’s get rid of it. FXF Member Prabbit bought this little cool Adapter for $6.25!

For other solutions, check out this thread at the FXF!

PHOTOGRAPHY BOOKS
shared by FXF Member FearTheXNoob

FearTheXNoob asked for some photography Books to read on vacation. The FXF community recommended, among the others:

Dan Winters – Road to Seeing
Zack Arias – Photography Q&A: Real Questions. Real Answers
Bruce Barnbaum – The art of photography
Ansel Adam’s – The Negative
Galen Rowell’s – Mountain Light: In Search of the Dynamic Landscape or Inner Game of Outdoor Photography

For more book recomandations, visit this FXF thread… and feel free to drop your own tips.

TRAVEL PHOTO BACKPACK
shared by FXF Member photog

Just a few recommendations, starting from the one of FXF Member photog:

Lowepro Photo Hatchback 22L AW
MindShift Rotation
Urban Approach 15 Mirrorless Backpack

More nice bags in this FXF thread here.

UNDERWATER HOUSING OR BAGS
shared by FXF Member Mike B

FXF Member Mike B asked: “Has anyone had experience with gear to allow the use of an X-T1 underwater?” The suggestions came in, from the Ewa Marine DB bag to the Meikon 40m/130ft Underwater Waterproof Camera Housing for X-T1! More suggestions in this FXF thread.

FUJIFILM INSTAX SP-1 PRINTER
shared by FXF Member Koban

I can’t recommend the little Fujifilm SP-1 Printer enough! There is dedicated thread at the FXF about it, with some feedback of X-shooters, who used it in their travels… a MUST HAVE!

We Have The Proof ! Fujifilm Reads FujiRumors Every Day and confirms: X-E2 FW in OCT/NOV + X-T1 4.0 on June 22!

Fujifilm shows one of the FujiRumors Polls to the Press

– – –

In case you wonder if Fujifilm cares of the opinion of FujiRumors and FXF readers, well, here is the evidence that they do read us and care about our opinion.

Look at what joshuakhoo published just now: he recently participated at a Fuji event, where the company displayed one of our polls to the press (see image above). Pretty cool :)

Oh, do take a look at the last slide. That came from Fujirumors.com, on why people buy Fujifilm. Patrick, they read your website everyday too!

So FujiRumors is the place to let Fuji know what we think… and also our new Fuji X Forum here.

But there is more to read at joshuakhoo. On the rumor front, the Fujifilm Manager confirmed the Firmware rumors shared here on FujiRumors:

For the X-E2, he is quoted to say that it will be ready around Oct to Nov 2015 time frame and asked the users to be patient as they are short of resources to develop the firmware. As for the X-T1 firmware 4.0 upgrade, he says it will be released on the 22nd of June 2015.

He did not want to answer a question on medium format camera rumour though.

Take note: Fujifilm did NOT deny the Medium Format Rumor ;) .

At the event, Fuji presented their newly released gear and gave some figures about the market shares in Asia… which are really encouraging (the green line is Fuji’s Marketshare) – see image at the bottom of this post.

Full Report at joshuakhoo

ABOUT THE POLL MENTIONED ABOVE

FR-readers requested to split X-Trans sensor and Fuji Colors. It makes sense, since the much appreciated Fuji Colors do not depend (exclusively) on the X-Trans sensor. So here it is, the updated poll. Feel free to vote it… and since Fujifilm likes our polls and feedback, I’ve added a few more.
