KAIZEN: Camera Remote control (and 3rd party flash support) coming for Fujifilm X-E2? + New feature coming soon

firmwareFujirumors’ window to Photokina: DAY 2

_ _ _

Second update today about the upcoming Fuji firmware. This time it’s about the Fujifilm X-E2 ( btw, $50 price drop on the X-E2 at the moment).

A FR-reader just came back from photokina with the following information… and he kindly shares it with all of us:

Firmware X-E2:
Fuji is looking and testing what the hardware supports and what not. Remote Control is one of those features! But they’ve to rewrite the driver cause the X-E2 uses a different WLAN module, but it’s on the list. What seems to be not on the list would be the Instax printer support.

Nissin i40 Flash:
In theory, the Nissin i40 flash is ready, but Nissin has to wait for the Fuji Firmware to actual support 3rd party flashes.

For now I have no confirmation about the details of the update from tursted sources.

New feature coming soon – control up to three X series cameras at the same time (fujfiilm)

[UDPATE: Admiringlight Report] FIRST IMAGES of the XF 16mm f/1.4 & 90mm f/2 (LIVE: Fujirumors Window to Photokina)

XF 16mm f/1.4

The Fujirumors Window to Photokina just started. So, if you can’t go to Photokina (like me), but don’t want to miss anything, stay tuned on Fujiumors also via facebook, google+, RSS-feed and twitter.

[UDPATE: Admiringlight posted a report with some more images of the upcoming lenses. In short: X100T: the new HVF rocks / Graphite X-T1: beautiful / X-T1 firmware: coming in November / 50-140mm: fast focus, marked aperture ring, very pleasant bokeh, zero chromatic abberation “even when shooting sparkling silver jewelry” / 56mm f/1.2 APD: softer out of focus renderings and a bit more wide open contrast. / 140-400mm: 86mm front filter, Very fat, but somewhat short for the focal length / 90mmF2:  larger than any of the 85mm f/1.8 lenses for SLRs / 16-55: “When I inquired about the lack of stabilization, I was told that the 16-55 had the stabilizer removed in order to improve the image quality further“.]

After the 140-400 (click here) more images surface on the web, showing upcoming Fujinon glass:

– the 16mm f/1.4 with focus clutch mechanism, DOF & Focus scale – filter size 67
– the 90mm f/2 – filter size 72

Fujinon XF 90mm f/2

FIRST IMAGE of the 140-400 (mock-up) shown at Photokina + 16-55 without OIS!

 photo unnamed_zps1e93d01e.jpg

The super tele-photo zoom lens will be a 140-400 F4-5.6 weather resistant lens! It’s obviously just a mock-up for now, but you can read in the description:

140-400 1:4-5.6 R LM OIS WR
filter mount: 86
Label – coming in 2015

And if you look at the image at the bottom, you’ll see it: the XF 16-55 has no OIS.

The image was spotted by FR-reader Jacek, Nn & Richard (thanks a lot) via fujifilm, dpreview and ephotozine.

In these days, Fujirumors will be the window to photokina for all X-shooters around the world who can’t, like me, go to Cologne. I’ll search the web for everything of interest around the X-system… and you can help!

If you find something interesting on the web too, or if you actually are at photokina and have a quick report or a useful information to share with other X-enthusiasts, then feel free to drop me an email at fujirumor [at] gmail.com. Or use the rumor box to contact me anonymously.

So follow Fujirumros also via facebook, google+, RSS-feed and twitter. And meet Rico Pfirstinger on Thursday (18SEP) between 10.00 and 11.30 AM at Photokina and ask him anything about Fuji X! Hall 4.1, Booth C27/D24 (d.punkt Verlag).

Oh, and Fuji, just to let you know:

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

Switch to the X

Matt Russell: “Patrick, Well, I finally did it. I sold my Canon 5D Mark II with 5 lenses and bought a X-T1 with the 10-24mm, 55-200, and the 56mm. After having bought the X100s and been impressed with it, I can’t say how impressed I am with the X-T1 and the lenses. I’m starting to branch out in my photography (portraits, street, etc) which I felt inhibited by the size, bulk, and attention my Canon gear garnered. I would have to pick and choose which Canon gear to leave home as it all wouldn’t fit into my gear bag. I now carry all my Fuji gear (X-T1, 3 lenses, X100S) and have room to spare and less of a load. I couldn’t be happier with my decision. I will never go back to a DSLR.” mjrussellphotography.com/latestmjrussellphotography.com/gallery/places/connecticu

Chris: “I’d like to know more about Fujifilm plans for open source software. I’d like to be able to interact with my camera via an api, and create customizations/plugins that change the way the camera operates. There is Magic Lantern www.magiclantern.fm, which does this for Canon cameras, but the best option would be for Fuji to lead the charge.” /
