Zack Arias is Back :: A Journey through the Remote Villages of Morocco (with his Fuji X gear) to help Kids!

Zack Arias is back with a new Video!

This time he went back to Morocco (he has been there last year, too) for good cause: raise money to help kids to get access to better education. He travelled with his light Fuji gear (and of course the Instax Share SP-1 printer) from village to village, through a wonderful scenery, along with his son.

This is more than just a Fuji Promo video. It’s an invitation to travel, to meet, to share… and to do good. Make sure to check out the video.

I’ll close this post with the words of my favorite author, Michel de Montaigne, who said (sorry for the bad translation made by myself)

To me, travelling seems a beneficial exercise. The soul is practicing this exercise continuously, noticing new and unknown things. And I don’t know of a better school to form life, than to continuously present ourselves the diversity of many other lives, opinions and customs, and let our soul taste the variety of nature. While travelling, our body is neither lazy nor wearied… and it’s this moderate movement that gives him energy.

P.S.: Also here on FujiRumors, the X-shooter community tried to do good, collecting $3,500 for Free Education for Cambodian kids. Thanks again for your support.

Ending The Confusion: Adorama Zeiss Touit Super-Deal NOT Valid!

Bildschirmfoto 2016-04-20 um 10.56.00

This is an important update for those, who grabbed the Zeiss Touit Adorama Deal ($1,318 for the 12, 32 and 50mm).

I’ve reached out Adorama, and they wrote me via email that:

The customer can take advantage of one of the rebates but not both. Once we were aware of the mistake all the customers who placed orders were reached out to by our customer service team.

So you can still purchase the Zeiss Touit Trinity with a $700 rebate at Adorama, BHphoto & Co (price $2,018), but if you take advantage of this deal, then you can NOT save additional $700 thanks to the mail-in rebate.

Read the full updated Terms and Conditions here, where Zeiss writes: “Not valid with any other rebate offer. ”

X-T1 DEAL

Even Top Rated US ebay seller [shoplink 44757 ebay]electronicsvalley[/shoplink] knows it: the Fujifilm X-T2 is coming.

So that’s the moment to try to get rid of as many X-T1’s as possible. They are selling a limited number of [shoplink 44757 ebay]X-T1 with a $600 discount[/shoplink]!

Grey Market Item :: This item does not come with the official 1 year US Fujifilm warranty, but is covered by a 1 year seller Warranty.

SONY PRESS RELEASE
News on electronics-eetimes

(Tokyo, April 18, 2016) Sony Corporation (“Sony”) extends its deepest sympathies to all those affected by the earthquakes in Kumamoto.

Due to the earthquake of April 14 and subsequent earthquakes in the Kumamoto region, the following Sony Group manufacturing sites have been affected:

Operations at Sony Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation’s Kumamoto Technology Center (located in Kikuchi Gun, Kumamoto Prefecture), which primarily manufactures image sensors for digital cameras and security cameras as well as micro-display devices, were halted after the earthquake on April 14, and currently remain suspended. Damage to the site’s building and manufacturing lines is currently being evaluated, and with aftershocks continuing, the timeframe for resuming operations has yet to be determined.

Although some of the manufacturing equipment at Sony Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation’s Nagasaki Technology Center (located in Isahaya City, Nagasaki Prefecture), which is Sony’s main facility for smartphone image sensor production, and Oita Technology Center (located in Oita City, Oita Prefecture), which commenced operations as a wholly-owned facility of Sony Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation on April 1, had been temporarily halted, the affected equipment has been sequentially restarted from April 17, and production has resumed. Sony Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation’s Kagoshima Technology Center (located in Kirishima City, Kagoshima Prefecture) has continued its production operations after the earthquakes, and there have been no major effects on its operations.

Sony has confirmed the safety of all of its and its group companies’ employees in the region affected by the earthquakes.

The impact of these events on Sony’s consolidated results is currently being evaluated.
