Triple win for Fujifilm at the TIPA Award 2016

2. TIPA BEST MIRRORLESS CSC ENTRY LEVEL Award – The “FUJIFILM X-T10” Mirrorless Digital Camera – READ MORE
3. TIPA BEST CSC TELEPHOTO ZOOM LENS Award – The “FUJINON XF100-400mmF4.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR” X Mount Interchangeable lens – READ MORE

The awards for Fujifilm are for sure deserved! But, as often with such awards, there are so many categories that it’s quite easy for every manufacturer to win an award.

For example, the X-Pro2 wins as best CSC Expert camera, but the SonyA7rII is the best professional CSC camera, while the Olympus E-M10 Mark II is the the best Advanced camera. I don’t really understand what’s the difference between Expert, Advanced and Professional. But more categories make more manufacturers happy.

NOTE: Next Year Fujifilm will win the Best Medium Format Camera (this year the award goes to the Phase One XF 100MP).

News on Reuters. Fujifilm digital camera factory and Sony Imaging Sensor factory also affected by the earthquake.

My thoughts go to our Japanese friends.

Notice of special repair fee corresponding Fujifilm products were affected by the 2016 Kumamoto local earthquake

Summary: Fuji will apply a standard 50% discount on all repairs of products damaged by the earthquake, provided they weren’t severely damaged by fire or immersion (in which case special rates will apply but not the 50% discount) and can be repaired.

Meyer-Optik Görlitz just announced a new Kickstarter to fund the Trioplan f2.9/50, the next lens to restore the brand’s historic soap bubble bokeh to the modern market. They plan to release also a Fuji X-mount version of this lens.

The classic Trioplan 50mm 2.9 can be [shoplink 44539 ebay]found here on eBay[/shoplink].

As you can see in the Complete Overview over all exisiting (and upcoming) Fuji X-mount lenses, Meyer Optik Görlitz already offers some X-mount lenses: the [shoplink 44451 ebay]Nocturnus  35mmF0.95[/shoplink], the Trimagon 95mmF2.6 and the Trioplan 100mmF2.8.

Regarding the Nocturnus lens FXF member yukosteel noted here,

[shoplink 44451 ebay]On this eBay lot[/shoplink] it looks a bit different then picture on FR from February 27, 2015. There is hood mount, and “0.95” on DOF scale. Other then that it still looks like Mitakon. While pictures on Meyer-Optik are still showing slightly different body design, though same size : )

Here some Meyer Optik Görlitz “legends”:
