In November we have shared quite some rumors (as you can see here). And not only that! In our previous 2024 outlook, we forgot to add gear that Fujifilm has already pre-announced to come in 2024 as well as give you a look into rumored third party AF lenses.
That’s why we need to update our view into the Fujifilm year 2024.
All the X/GFX rumors come from our sources, whereas the speculations are often based on hints and comments that managers gave in interviews.
We recently told you that the Fujifilm GFX100S II will come in the first months 2024.
So the question now is: what could be the differences or similarities between the Fujifilm GFX100S II and the Fujifilm GFX100 II?
To be clear: these are just speculations, not rumors.
lower price than GFX100II
lower EVF resolution
still no battery grip option
lower bursts rates than GFX100II
smaller body
a bit inferior video specs (due to smaller body and not optimal heat dissipation)
no full size HDMI and Ethernet port
I think the list above makes a whole lot of sense. But now it gets tougher and the question are:
will the GFX100 II have the new optimized 100MP sensor (improved readout circuits, microlenses etc) or will it use the older non-optimized 100MP sensor to keep price as low as possible?
will it have only SD-card slots or also a CFexpress card slot?
will it offer Frame.io integration in camera body or not?
And last but not least (and maybe most importantly):
will the GFX100S II still have the PSAM layout or will retro dials return on GFX with the GFX100S II?
These are just some of my personal non-rumor based speculations and questions. Feel free to add yours in the comments below.
As usual, all the answers will follow on FujiRumors.com.
We also asked you guys which cameras you think will come (you voted here), and judging by the results, I can say that you didn’t see that one coming.
In fact, according to our trusted sources, the next mirrorless interchangeable lens camera that Fujifilm will launch is the Fujifilm GFX100S II.
Now you know the true reasons why Fujifilm is selling the Fujifilm GFX100S at a massive discount.
Now, there was the speculation out there that Fujifilm had merged the GFX100 and GFX100S into one single camera line, the GFX100II.
But nope, that’s not the case. And it comes from multiple trusted sources, which means it is 100% accurate and I will shut down FujiRumors forever if it does not become true.
And to be sure there are no misunderstandings, here a few things that must be clear:
the GFX100SII is the next mirrorless interchangeable lens camera to come
yes, it could be also the next Fujifilm camera to come overall, but I have no idea if maybe the X100R will come before the GFX100SII
But my work is far from done.
We might know two cameras that come, but there will be three or more coming in the first months of 2024.
So if neither the X100V successor nor the GFX100SII is the camera you were waiting for, then don’t worry, because we will get even more soon.
We have shown how it destroyed the Hasselblad X2D by the specs and it will be the biggest temptation ever launched for Full Frame users to ditch their smaller sensor and step up to something about 70% larger and fuller than full frame.
And today Fujifilm gives us a first glimpse into the Fujifilm GFX100 II with the video you can see above (screenshots below). We notice:
2 FN buttons on the fron of the camera
PSAM dial with 6 Custom modes
manual MCS switch still there
three buttons right behind the shutter
movie/stills switch
NOTE: I hear some claim this camera is called Fujifilm GFX100SII. But that’s FAKE. This is not the Fujifilm GFX100S II, but the Fujifilm GFX100II.
