It’s confirmed now by a Trusted Source: the reset issue is fixable via Firmware.

When will it come? FR-reader Silvestro had a call with Fuji New Jersey and shared what they told him here:

I talked to at the New Jersey facility said they knew all about it…it had happened to them actually […] he also said that by the end of the week there would be a Firmware fix

I can’t confirm for now the “end of this week FW-fix“, but it’s good to know that it’s not a hardware issue. And of course, trusted or not, the past has shown us that when it comes to Firmware updates, we should always take it with a grain of salt… even if it’s Fujifilm itself, who announces them ;)

Get Instant Notification as soon as the Firmware is online by following this FXF-thread and/or following FujiRumors on Facebook, RSS-feed and Twitter.

I also recommend you to subscribe also to our Newsletter. Every 7 days you will get 1 email with a Recap of what happened in the Fuji world in the latest week.

Fuji X-Pro2 Firmware update coming soon! (New Source) – BUG FIX

Share

FW

According to a new source, Fuji will release a Bug Fix Firmware Update for the Fujfiilm X-Pro2.

One Bug should be the “Reset-Issue“. The Source said:

Fuji is fully aware of the problem and they’re on the way to release a firmware update, they identified the problem and no hardware is concerned.

Good to know that a Firmware update will fix it :)

Dpreview (read here) just posted the full X-PRO2 review:

The X-Pro2 is a significant upgrade over the original Pro1, improved in every respect to give a much faster and more flexible tool.
More so than most cameras, it’s one that if you get it, you should considering getting it, and if you don’t, then you’ll probably miss the point entirely. Personally I loved it: because of its specialism, not in spite of it.

The camera earned a Silver award and has those Pros and Cons according to the DPreview team:

Pros:

  • Excellent JPEG output with good choice of color modes
  • Raw performance comparable with best-in-class
  • Class-leading high ISO performance
  • Distinguished design with solid, sealed build
  • Good single AF performance, reasonable in continuous AF
  • Unique and enjoyable hybrid viewfinder system
  • Sensible degree of customization
  • ‘My Menu’ feature simplifies access to settings you frequently change
  • Greatly improved video results work well with Film Simulation modes
  • Most responsive X series camera yet
  • Twin card slots
  • In-camera Raw conversion and Wi-Fi let you modify and share images quickly
  • DR modes let you easily exploit the sensor’s dynamic range

Cons:

  • Video and supporting features aren’t cutting edge
  • Continuous AF Tracking lags the best in class [Note: I hope they enabled High Performance mode]
  • ISO dial is attractive but impractical
  • Battery life disappointing (especially when using EVF)
  • No USB charging option
  • No focal-length dependent threshold for Auto ISO mode
  • Q Menu doesn’t allow exploration of options for each setting
  • Wi-Fi connection can be temperamental when making connection

It’s Monday… so let’s try to have a good start in this week with 2 blog posts:

  1. a hot rumor (already shared here – Global Shutter Rumor)
  2. a curiosity worth of our “FujiHumors” column

I don’t know why (maybe the NikonDF was not sexy enough) but fact is that Nikon is currently using a Fujifilm X100 to advertise its products on Posters :-). This particular one has been spotted by FR-reader David in Belfast. See it on Twitter here.

This is the time for me to make outing: I consider the Fujifilm X100 the best looking X-series camera Fuji ever made… now drop your vote down below.
