What a great sunny Sunday here in… the mountains ;) . I’ll try to go out and enjoy it, right after today’s third article is online (Posted Earlier Today: First REAL LIFE X-T1 image leaked – Full list of X-T1 firmware ver. 4.0 features).

But before I leave, I couldn’t wait to share this with you:

A top trusted source just dropped me an email and said: “Get ready for a New Lens on May 18th!!!” Although the source didn’t specify which lens will be unveiled, I guess that a quick look at the roadmap will help you to find the answer.

I guess they will take off the image soon, but for now, if you go to Flickr here, you can see the X-T10 in real life (wich XC16-50). It lookes exactly like the images leaked here in the last few days!

The new firmware ver.4.0 will really make the X-T1 a “complete new camera!”. It will bring faster AF and new features.

• Better AF overall accuracy and performance
• AF system update with zone tracking
• New auto macro functionality
• Eye detection AF feature
• Improved frame lines
• Shutter dial performance improvements
• Exposure compensation will be allowed in manual mode

As rumored previoulsy here:

A) Fuji will announce the new Firmware in Mid-May (probably the 11th)
B) The Firmware will be available for download in June (this means, more or less when the X-T10 will be available on the market) – NOTE: last minutes delay can happen, see X100 firmware.

No word about other X-series camears beeing updated for now.

The X-T1 Firmware ver. 4.0 rumor history

First let’s make a bit of order in the Super Firmware ver.4.0 for X-T1 rumor:

1) Back in April I told you here that a new Firmware with improved AF for X-T1 will come in Mid-May (probably 11th of May). – NEW SOURCE
2) An anonymous source confirmed here that Fuji will release a new firmware, that will make the X-T1 a “Completely New Camera“. Note: this source didn’t say anything about the release date of this firmware, just that it will come – ANONYMOUS SOURCE

Don’t Worry, Be Happy, The Firmware will come!

Recently Fujifilm released just a minor update (FW ver. 3.11 for tethered shooting).

Some X-T1 shooters were a bit worried, that my sources might have been wrong. But I really want to assure you that the FW 4.0 will come. Please do NOT (!!!) listen to those folks, who keep up saying (as usual) that I’m just deliberately spreading BS…. to those folks: I’m really sorry to disappoint you (again & again), but the firmware WILL come. Just relax, take it easy and accept this fact ;) … any maybe check out also the huge 2015 rumor overview and fact check.

The problem is just to know when exactly it will be released & which features it will possibly bring (a part from a faster AF speed). Please give me a bit of time to investigate about it… and in the meantime, here is what a NEW SOURCE just told us:
