Top Gear 2016: Fujifilm X-T2 Best Advanced Mirrorless (ephotozine) :: X-Pro2 Best Camera (Wired) :: X70 Best Fixed Lens Camera (IR)

Share

It’s the time of the year, where several popular websites declare their favorite cameras of the year 2016. And of course, Fujifilm is well represented ;)

So here is the first selection:

The Fujifilm X-T2 delivers excellent image quality, with high-speed focus, and excellent noise performance. Every new release from Fujifilm gets better, and the X-T2 certainly delivers great results. Fujifilm has also had an excellent track record of introducing new firmware to new and old camera models, and if this continues, then we can expect the X-T2 will also get better with time.”

  • Gear of the Year: Richard’s choice – Fujifilm X-T2 at dpreview:

I just chose the one I enjoyed the most. […] as we enter the last week of our loan period, the X-T2 is the camera I’m least looking forward to shipping back. I’ll miss it, and I’ll miss the encouragement that it’s given me. Merry bloody Christmas.”

  • The Fujifilm X-Pro2 has been declared best camera 2016 by wired:

While it may not be the fastest camera, or the best for traditional pro photographers, Fujifilm’s X-Pro2 is a blast to shoot with. It oozes quality in every way, and turns out amazing images thanks to Fuji’s stellar lens lineup. If you love photography the way we do, the Fujifilm X-Pro2 is worth getting to know.”

For photographers who desire extensive physical controls, terrific image quality and a compact form factor, the X70 is the perfect camera and is our Enthusiast Fixed Lens Camera of the Year for 2016.

Fujifilm X-T2 In Stock at AmazonUS – UPDATE: Sold Out

Share

5 monts after the Fujifilm X-T2 has been announced, we are still here and have a hard time to find the X-T2 in stock (at least in USA, it’s a bit better in EU… just a bit).

But that’s how it is. Not that this surprises me. We have seen quite some X-gear in the past with biblical waiting times. I always hope there will be a last time… but it happened again. The reasons? The initial sensor shortage due to the Kumamoto earthquake, but especially the extremely high demand, that surprised Fujifilm, as the company itself said in a press release on September 8. They take full responsiblity for the delay:

And we apologize for the inconvenience to our customers, actually there is no excuse. So we will continue to work to intensive production, I would like to humbly thank you for your understanding.”

With that said, delays or not, the X-T2 is an awesome camera, and it’s part of my service to you to tell you when I see some in stock. And right now you can find a limited number in stock at AmazonUS here (may take 1-2 days extra for shipping).

Do you know any store that has some available? Feel free to share it in the comments

Fujifilm X100F or Fujifilm X-E3… Which One Would You Buy? – POLL

*Fujifilm Reads You!
See the original FujiRumors Poll, that Fujfiilm used in an official presentation to the Press

Fujifilm X-E3 or X100F?

Imagine an X-E3, spec’ed like the X100F, which one would you buy? Of course consider differences, like the hybrid viewfinder and leaf shutter on the X100F and the interchangeable lenses on the X-E3. But for the rest, sensor, processor, AF-performance, video capabilities and so forth would be identical.

Why this Survey?

I launch this Poll to see, which camera would sell better amongst FujiRumors readers. And a little bit I launch it also for Fujifilm Managers… this market study comes to you for free, but if you really insist, I could also accept a free Fujifilm GFX* ;)

* or can you at least make a special ultra-discounted price for me? My masterplan to get the money for the GFX is not really working. And now it starts to be quite hard to stay out in the cold for hours.

Between the Fujifilm X100F and X-E3, I would buy the...

Windows Version of FUJIFILM Tether Shooting Plug-in PRO for Adobe Photoshop Lightroom now Available

Share

The Windows Version of Tether Shooting Plug-in PRO for Adobe Photoshop Lightroom now available at the Adobe Add-ons site here.

A FR-reader already send me his first feedback:

Not a rumor, but a fact:
1. My previous version of the FUJIFILM Tether Shooting Plug-in (Windows version) was automatically updated (at no extra cost) to version 1.3.0 via Adobe CC. Works flawlessly with my X-T2.
2. The PRO version is available now also for both Mac and WIN.
3. Unexpected features in the PRO version (when controlling the camera from the PC):
– focus bracketing
– overlay mode, to align a new shot with an earlier one.
Yoohoo!
