Fuji X-Pro2 compressed files decoding – Support Request by creators of FastRAW Viewer / RAW digger

lib raw

The creators of RAW digger & FastRAW Viewer are working on a software that should handle compressed Fuji RAW files much faster. Since this is something many X-shooters could profit from and Iliah is asking for feedback, I’m happy to share it here on FujiRumors.

We are preparing an open source release of decompressor as a part of LibRaw. That will allow raw converters, including open source ones like RawTherapee, Darktable, UFRaw to decode FujiFilm compressed raw files.

via dpreview

To thoroughly test the decoder they incorporated it into their FastRawViewer and RawDigger. Please do try it and let them know through support@fastrawviewer.com if there are any files that cause problems.

FastRawViewer:

OS X:

Windows/x64:
http://updates.fastrawviewer.com/data/beta/FastRawViewer-1.3.1.917-x64-Setup.exe

Windows/x32:
http://updates.fastrawviewer.com/data/beta/FastRawViewer-1.3.1.917-Setup.exe

Up-to-date manual: http://updates.fastrawviewer.com/data/beta/FastRawViewer-Manual-ENG.pdf

In FastRawViewer, they suggests to use Preferences – Performance – Use high speed preview for Fujifilm X-Trans setting with this camera, unless you use a very fast computer.

RawDigger:
OS X:
http://updates.rawdigger.com/data/beta/RawDigger-1.2.10.473.dmg

Windows/x64:
http://updates.rawdigger.com/data/beta/RawDigger-1.2.10.473-x64-Setup.exe

Windows/x32:
http://updates.rawdigger.com/data/beta/RawDigger-1.2.10.473-Setup.exe

After some beta testing of RawDigger and FastRawViewer with this decoder (5, maybe 10 days) they will publish the decoder as a part of LibRaw open source.

LEAKED :: Fujifilm X-T2 :: See HQ Images of the Dials + Unveiling the Secret of the 8th Drive Dial Function!

Share

When we leaked the first Fujifilm X-T2 images back in mid April, some attentive FR readers noticed that the Drive Dial has an 8th function (compared to the 7 functions of the X-T1).

A source decided to unveil the mistery and send us detailed images of all the dials.

You can see that the Fujifilm X-T2 has no Video button anymore and that Fuji added it to the Drive dial.

Moreover, you can also cleary see the thicker dial and the button mechanism (see the youtube video).

EXCLUSIVE IMAGES :: Detailed View of the Fujifilm X-T2 Vertical Battery Grip! :: 2 batteries + “Turbo Boost”!

Share

An anonymous source shared the image of the Fujifilm X-T2 vertical battery grip (VG-XT2) via email (sharing images via rumor box is a new feature… don’t hesitate to use it :-) )

Trusted sources confirm that the images are real.

You can see the “Boost” function (for higher frame rate) and, as clearly visible, it takes 2 batteries!!! :-).

With the vertical battery grip attached, the X-T2 will take its juice from 3 batteries overall. And given how much the X-T2 will probably suck (in terms of battery life ;) ), this is a very welcome addition.

The Fujifilm X-T2 will be announced in late June / early July.

There will be NO new Zeiss lens announcement next week!

Zeiss

There will be a Zeiss announcement next week. Some sites are saying it will be about a new lens… and some even think there will be new Fuji X mount lenses.

I’m sorry folks, but our friends from mirrorlessrumors say it clearly: no new lens coming next week… and I trust them!

So don’t put too much hope into new Zeiss lenses for Fuji X mount in future.

The biggest problem, for any other lens manufacturer (including Zeiss) is: Fujinon glass is too good and covers 85% of the needs of photographers… of course not all needs, because I KNOW YOU GUYS WANT THE XF23mmF2!!! :-)
