Fujifilm X100F HACK: How to Convert Old WCL-X100 and TCL-X100 into Version II with Magnets :)

Share

When Fujifilm launched the Fujifilm X100F, they also annouced a new TCL-X100 ver.II and WCL-X100 ver.II.

This second version of the WCL and TCL are optically identical to the first generation. What changes, though, is that inside the WCL and TCL ver.2, there is a little magnet, placed in different positions. These magnets allow the Fujiiflm X100F to automatically recognize if the WCL or TCL is attached, since they are designed to match one of to two magnets placed inside the 23mm lens of the X100F.

That’s handy :)

Now, if you already own the first generation WCL or TCL, you might not have to purchase the second version WCL or TCL, to enjoy this feature.

In fact, FR-reader Haoyuan came up with a “hack”, that makes the old WCL/TCL recognizable by the X100F. You just need 2mm x 1mm magnets, an electrical tape (or a Blu-Tack Adhesive), Plastic Tweezers, Sharpies, and a permanent adhesive (optional). And how exactly does it work? Well, jump over at haoyuanren to find out more :)

I wish you guys a GREAT weekend :)

Another one Hacked it too, using the magnet that comes with the X100F box and a gaffertape. You can’t do it cheaper :)

Fujifilm Canada Price Increase Coming May 1, 2017

Share

2000px-Fujifilm_logo.svg

Just recently I got an anonymous rumor about this (thanks)… I was about to share it, and then this letter from Fujifilm Canada has been shared at out GFX facebook group here.

The letter confirms, what the anonymous source told us: startig from May 1, Fuji stuff will cost more in Canada.

The anonymous source wrote:

Various lens and body pricing will be going up effective May 1st for Fujifilm Canada. Citing fluctuation of CDN $ against the USD. Canadian customers are going to have to pay more than what they currently pay with this adjustment.

We had such a price increase last year here in EU, so, my fellow Canadian X-shoooter friends, I know who it feels :( .

Fujifilm GFX 50S Vs. Canon 5DS R Vs. Hasselblad X1D :: Kevin Mullins First GFX Experience :: Fujinon GF 110mmF2 and GF23mmF4 & More (GFX Roundup)

Canon 5DS R vs Fujifilm GFX 50S in French at focus-numerique (translation)

Kevin Mullins: Snap Festival & My First GFX Experience at f16.click. Here an excerpt:

I had maybe an hour maximum with the GFX. I won’t be using it for shooting my style of documentary wedding photography. I’ve spent the last six years downsizing from DSLR to smaller, faster mirrorless and I don’t want to reverse that decision. However, what I can say about my experience with the GFX is that it is very true what people are saying; the image quality and the “medium format” feel of the images is unrivalled from anything I’ve ever used. I can see this camera being amazingly popular with editorial wedding photographers or those who spend a lot of time doing bridal portraiture.  It really does create razor sharp, gorgeous images and I intend renting one later in the year to see if it fits well with my equine work.”
