I switched from Nikon to Fujifilm in late 2014 and haven’t looked back since. Love the performance, look and feel of the Fuji cameras/glasses, the excellent JPEG handling with beautiful colors and film simulations and of course, the Kaizen updates. For a few years now I have photographed music in terms of performances, shows and concerts. The Fujisystem suits my needs for this very well and it’s a joy to use!

Fringer Canon EF to Fujifilm X Pro Smart Adapter Released for $299 – UPDATE

Fringer just released their Canon EF to Fujifilm X Electronic Smart Adapter has just been released for $299. It has a build in eletronic aperture ring and both bayonets are made of brass.

There is also a standard version, where you need to set aperture through camera body, the lens bayonet is made of brass and the camera bayonet is made of alloy.

“We are proud to announce the release of Fringer EF – X mount smart adapters. There are two version, i.e. Pro version and none pro (standard version). Currently only the Pro verion is avaliable on Fringer’s official website for $299 (plus $25 international expedited shipping). Please be noted that only very limited quantity is available now and it may sell out soon.

Fringer EF-FX Pro has built-in electronic aperture ring. You may set aperture value through the aperture ring just like the fujifilm XF lenses. Meanwhile, both bayonets of the Pro version are made of brass…”

The Fringer EF-FX Pro adapter has been sold out in less than an hour. The requirement was way beyond our expectations. I apologize for the very limited quantity of the initial batch. Now it’s close to Chinese new year and all the factories stopped their business. Thus, the next batch would not be ready in short time. Wooden Niccolls

FR-reader and X-shooter Allen (Images on instagram) noticed something watching the latest TCSTV live stream.

TheCameraStoreTV will be screening a new “Wooden Niccolls” episode (short films they do to mimic movie scenes and test/review gear) at a movie theater on big screen in Canada next month.

They just said they used some gear that hasn’t been released yet, so they can’t talk about it.

But here is why the FR-reader thinks (and me too), that it could be the Fujifilm X-H1:

… I promise…

… that I will shoot SEPIA only for an entire month! :)

It is always interesting to see, how fellow X-shooters post process their images, and we have shared them here on FujiRumors in the past (a few of them linked again below).

Today it’s time for Kevin Mullins, to guide us step by step through his black&white post-processing workflow. And interestingly, his starting point is Classic Chrome. What happens after that, you can see it in this Kevin Mullins video.

Fujifilm X-H1 with Electronic First Curtain Shutter (EFCS)

Hey guys! Everything ok? I hope so :) .

I allow myself to bother you today, because there is a new rumor to share, about the Fujifilm X-H1, which will be announced February 15.

According to our trusted sources, the Fujifilm X-H1 will have “electronic first curtain shutter” (EFCS).

robertotoole explains very good how electronic first curtain shutter (EFSC) works:

“When you press the shutter button to take a picture the electronic first curtain shutter uses a high-speed scanning system that mimics a mechanical first curtain shutter operation then synchronizes with a mechanical second curtain shutter to cover the sensor and end the exposure. Any vibration caused by the second curtain shutter happens after exposure has ended.

When you press the shutter button to take a picture with EFSC disabled or with a camera without EFSC a mechanical first curtain shutter uncovers the sensor and the second curtain follows along to form a slot to expose the sensor. The mechanical first curtain causes vibrations to occur throughout the exposure. This can lead to image blurring with high magnification macro or telephoto work.”

I know what you think… the X-H1 has the same sensor of X-T2, the same processor of X-T2… so will EFCS come to X-T2 via Kaizen firmware update? Let’s hope so :) .
