Not only the Fujifilm X Summit: Also My Paris Trip in April is Canceled

Share

Well, not only the Fujifilm X summit in April has been canceled.

So, last month I told you I’d travel to Paris in April and asked for you recommendations. Your help overwhelmed me and I took note of your tips on my iPad and used them to prepare my travel.

I was so thrilled to finally be able to visit Paris.

But sadly the protests in Paris seem to take no end, with new major strikes and protests set for the next days.

Look, if I was traveling alone or just with my wife, I’d very likely go to Paris anyway.

I mean, if I travel alone and the subway is blocked, no problem, I can walk for 3 hours on my own, try to get out of the way of protesters, and find my way through the city to get where I want to get.

But we travel with our 2 year old son, which makes visiting the city already a bit more challenging than going there alone. And in addition to that, now we could have to deal with protests, potential issues with public transport, closed museums and what not, which could making visiting Paris more stressful than I’d like (it’s our holiday, I’d like to enjoy with a worry-free mind).

At the end, given the scale of the ongoing protests, for the safety of my family and for making our long dreamed travel to Paris as beautiful and enjoyable as possible, we decided to postpone the trip.

At this point I’d like to thank everybody who dropped me recommendations in the comments and via email. I took note of them and whenever I will go to Paris, I will make good use of your tips. They are all noted and listed on a file on my iPad.

So, that was it.

I hope a good and peaceful solution for the current tensions in France will be found soon. That’s the important thing here for the people living in France. As for my travel, it’s just postponed and I can’t wait to visit Paris one day.

Take care everyone and have a wonderful weekend,
Patrick
