Sorry Fuji AUS, No Announcement. FR sources say: XF35mmF2 and 1.4x TC coming OCT 21 – on Marty MacFly Day :)

 photo XPC leer_zps8fmwnfer.jpg

Even Fujifilm itself posts wrong rumors now and then. ;) In fact, unlike predicted by Fujfilm Australia, there has not been any announcement between the 16th and 18th of October.

Now trust FujiRumors sources and mark this date, October 21, at the usual time: around midnight / 1AM NY-Time.

That’s the day Fuji will announce the XF35mmF2 WR and 1.4x TC… and in the meantime even time travellers like Marty MacFly know it, who appsitely came from the past to follow this event on FujiRumros :) … so stay tuned on FujiRumors for a live blogging session, where I’ll search & share all the relevant information about the new Fuji gear.

P.S.: You’re free to share this information elsewhere, just make the little courtesy to quote “www.fujirumors.com” and put a working link to this blog post.

Curiosity: Adobe gave away hundreds of X-T10’s :: Now even more X-shooters are waiting for “improved X-TRANS detail rendering.” :-)

 photo Adobe Fuji_zpsl2ganeww.jpg

A FR-reader shared the following curiosity via email: “Adobe gave everyone in attendance of the MAX 2015 conference a year’s subscription to Adobe Stock and a brand new Fuji X-T10 camera“. Fuji X Forum members greatbigd is one of those, who got this nice freebie :)

I’d like to note that Fujifilm officially sponsored this event.

Now, after giving away hundreds of X-T10, dear Adobe, you have one more excellent reason to give us the famous improved X-TRANS detail rendering and overall edge definition you talked about here.

NOTE: Previous Fujifilm related Adobe improvements: improved load speed of X-Trans RAW images and Halo Effect Problem fix.

XF100-400 mock-up shows a 4.5 to 5.6 aperture range. No further delay :) :: Fuji X-PRO2 available early 2016 (New Source)!

 photo 100-400_zpsgmbbchw6.jpg

IIRC, in all the photo shows of 2015, Fujifilm always omitted to show us any aperture markings on the XF 100-400 lens. But this changed now, on the current Digital Show in Melbourne.

A kind FR-reader, who attended the show, shared the following pics with the FR-community… and they show a mock-up of the XF100-400 with an aperture range that goes from 4.5 to 5.6. So it seems Fuji decided to contain its size & weight. And according to the poll we launched earlier, many FR-readers will welcome this decision.

The XF 100-400 has already been delayed from late 2015 to early 2016. Will there be any further delay, as an anonymous source told us here? According to the latest information I got, no further delay! The XF100-400 should hit the market latest in March, as indicated in this roadmap.

And here is another tidbit: the same FR-reader, who attended the Photo Show in Melbourne, said that the X-PRO2 will be available in…. SUMMER. Don’t worry, Summer in Australia is Winter in the northern hemisphere :) . So the X-PRO2 will be available early 2016.

XF 140-400 RECAP

  • Photokina 2014: Fujifilm showed a mock-up of an XF 140-400 F4-5.6 coming in late 2015
  • New Roadmap in February: DELAY: Fujifilm shows an XF 100-400 lens with no aperture marking, with no indication of aperture range. Coming in early 2016.
  • CP+, February 2015: a journalist of ValueTechTV says that the XF 100-400 release was delayed, because Fuji decided to change the aperture range at the wide end and make it slower and smaller.
  • The latest roadmap shared by FR-reader Stalkdog here, shows that Fuji will release the XF 100-400 in March 2016. The aperture range is marked as 4.5 at the wide and 5.6 at the long end, confirming what the journalist at ValueTech said.
  • At the photo show in Melbourne, Fujfilm displayed an XF 100-400 with an aperture range that goes from 4.5 to 5.6.

Iridient Developer 3.0.5 is now available… and why Iridient is worth 5 Million Dollar for Adobe :-)

iri

IRIDIENT 3.0.5

Iridient Developer 3.0.5 is now available:
http://iridientdigital.com/products/iridientdeveloper_download.html

Improves RAW black level handling, in some situations quite noticeably, for the X100 and perhaps some other non X-Trans models as well. Various other bug fixes, improvements and new camera support. This release also adds an editing extension for Apple Photos on Mac OS X 10.11 (El Capitan) that provides external edit type functionality for opening images from the Photos library into Iridient Developer.

The Million Dollar Brian

And since we are talking of Iridient, here is another fun (and fake) rumor I’ve received via email.

Adobe is considering abandoning their own RAW developer and contract Iridient to supply software. We have 50 people working on this stuff and they can’t keep up with a one man show! We just have the wrong staff, exclaims senior manager! We can pay him $5mill a year and still come out ahead!”

I contacted Brian from Iridient, since I wanted to share a good laugh him… and he obviously confirmed that it’s a fake since “their recruiter told me they could only afford $4 million” :-)

cheers
