DPReview decalred the best gear of 2016.
In the “Best High-end ILC” category it was a close race between the Fujifilm X-T2 and the Nikon D500. At the end the Nikon D500 won at the photo finish. The Nikon D500 has also been declared the overall “Product of the Year”
“It was a two-horse race in this category, with two products way out in front of the rest of the pack (do horses run in packs?). The Fujifilm X-T2 came a close second place to take the runner-up spot in this category. DPReview staff praised its portability, ergonomics and image quality.”

The Fujifilm X-A3 has been declared the “Best Entry Level ILC 2016”
“The winner of this category is the Fujifilm X-A3. While not as feature-laden as its higher-end X-series peers, the 24MP, WiFi-equipped X-A3 is a great camera for someone just starting out in photography. It offers plenty of scope for beginners to grow, without being confusing or intimidating to use.”

The Fujifilm Instax Share SP-2 Printer won the “Accessory of the Year Award 2016“:
“It wasn’t even close, the second generation Fuji Instax Share SP-2 printer was our favorite accessory of 2016. Why? Because there’s just nothing quite like holding a physical image in your hands. Faster and sleeker than the original and with more printing options, the SP-2 can easily link up with Fujifilm cameras or print from a compatible phone or tablet.”

Fringer has developed world’s first Fujifilm X mount – [shoplink 52369 ebay]Contax N[/shoplink] electronic adapter. This adapter will give you autofocus and electronic aperture control. It’s a prototype for now, so it’s still under development, and the time to market is currently unknown. But in the video below, you can see how the Fujiflm X-E2 works fine with the [shoplink 52371 ebay]Carl Zeiss Planar 1.4/50[/shoplink].
The developer says that in the future, it may support other auto lenses such as Canon EF mount lenses.

shared by asgy photography Purple Grid Artifacts Image Error X-T2 (and X-pro 2) with backlight.
NOTE: As you will see in the thread, I’ve shared a sample taken recently with my X-T1 + 35/1.4, where I recreate the same issue. I actually do not consider it an issue (at least on my X-T1) because it hardly ever occurs (even if I try hard to re-create it appositely), and if it occurs, I can make the artifacts disappear by very slightly changing the angle. Moreover, I hear about the same issue occuring with other mirrorless camera brands. It might be an issue more or less common to many mirrorless cameras, due to the reflection of the light hitting the sensor on the rear element of the lens.
My Personal Conclusion: For me, this has absolutely no influence on my real life shooting. And if you check out the images below, you will see X-T2 backlit images taken with no artifacts at all. So personally I do not care about this. And how rare this issue is, is proven by the fact, that in all these years, nobody ever complaint about grid artifacts on the X-T1… at least until today… ;)
