Cameralabs: Sony A6600 Review vs Fujifilm X-T3

Cameralabs published it’s full Sony A6600 review, Sony new flagship APS-C camera with IBIS.
He used both new lenses on the Sony A6600, the Sony E 16-55mm F2.8 G and the Sony E 70-350mm F4.5-6.3 G OSS.
Inevitabely, he often compared the Sony A6600 to the Fujifilm X-T3.
Now, I’ll skip the parts, where Cameralabs talks only about the Sony A6600, and highlight down below only those passages, where he mentions and compares it to the Fujifilm X-T3.
Sony A6600 vs Fujifilm X-T3
- Sony A6600 has much better battery life
- Sony A6600 battery life: 900+ stills / 3 hours and 25 minutes video shooting 4K 24p.
- Fujifilm X-T3 battery life: less than 400 stills / 1 hour of 4K video
- the grip on X-T3 is smaller, but feels better
- Sony A6600 has only 1 SD card slot (UHS-I), whereas the X-T3 has dual SD-Card slot, both UHS-II
- Sony A6600 has no 10 bit video available (not even external via HDMI). X-T3 has 10 bit video internal and external and X-T30 has it external
- EVF: Sony has 2.36 million-dot viewfinder and X-T3 has 3.69 million-dot EVF
- Sony A6600 has a selfie screen, X-T3 not, but X-T3 screen tilts out to the side for easier framing in portrait mode
- Sony’s eye AF is the most confident in the business, better than Fujifilm X-T3
- Fujifilm X-T3 offers faster shutter speeds for continuous shooting
- Sony A6600 max shutter speed is 1/4000, whereas Fujifilm X-T3 goes up to 1/8000. Probably quite old shutter design on Sony.
- Sony A6600 has no joystick, X-T3 has
- 4K30p is cropped on Sony A6600, but not on X-T3
- Sony 120p slow motion still records sound and has autofocus, X-T3 does not record sound
- Sony also let’s you chose what framerate let your footage play back on your timeline later, rather than baking it in like most others. This makes it easy to switch frame rates and dip in and out of slow motion on the same clip
- Unlimited recording time, whereas X-T3 has 30 minutes limit
- video AF, Fujifilm is getting better and better, but is still lacking in confidence compared to Sony and Canon video face/subject tracking AF
- Sony A6600 has IBIS. X-T3 has no IBIS
- Sony A6600 IBIS is not best in market. Still useful, but in some cases tuning on IBIS almost gives as shaky results as with IBIS turned OFF. Vloggers will need to use a gimbal
- Sony A6600 succumbs easily to rolling shutter
