Once or twice a year, we like to share a little curiosity roundup, looking at famous people who shoot Fujifilm or to look at ads or movies where Fujifilm cameras pop up.
Today we have a few additions, starting with the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton, who also shoots Fujifilm, more precisely a nice silver vintage Fujifilm X-T3, as you can see on instagram here. She joins other royals like the King of Sweden.
But maybe we guys should start a gofundme campaign to buy her a new sync conncetion cover ;)
And since we talk curiosities….
The Leica Store in Germany filmed their Leica Q2 Monochrom presentation with a Fujifilm camera (see video below).
More tidbits below.
March was a month full of exclusive and breaking rumors:
You guys tell me if you’d like to have a break from the rumors, otherwise I’ll just continue, ok?
No complaints? Ok, so let’s go ahead. :)
Today we talk about the upcoming Fujinon XF18mmF1.4 R WR, the only not yet released lens so far that we can find on the official Fujifilm roadmap (** list of non yet announced X mount lenses below).
Well, we have seen hands on images of the Fujinon XF18mmF1.4 R WR at the X summit of October 2020 here. FujiRumors has also taken the official XF18mmF1.4 sketches shared by Fujifilm and made a size comparison Fujinon XF16mm f/1.4 and the XF23mm f/1.4, which you can see here.
From that size comparison, we saw that the size of the XF18mmF1.4 R WR is somewhere in between the one of the Fujinon XF16mm f/1.4 and the XF23mm f/1.4.
The additional information we got about the XF18mmF1.4 R WR is that it will have a 62mm filter size. As a reference, the XF16mmF1.4 R WR has a 67mm filter size, whereas the XF23mmF1.4 R has also a 62mm filter size.

** FujiRumors has leaked two more lenses that will come, but are not yet included in the roadmap, the Fujinon XF150-600mm and the Fujinon XF33mmF1.4 R WR.

Recently we told you that Fujifilm will launch the Fujinon XF33mmF1.4 R WR in 2021.
I noticed some saying that this is the much desired and awaited XF35mmF1.4 R WR.
But it’s not, for these two reasons:
According to our sources, Fujifilm will launch the XF33mmF1.4 R WR lens in 2021.
So let’s add this lens to the other rumored lenses.
Stay tuned… more rumors are coming ;).

When I shared the rumor that Fujifilm will release another f/1.4 prime in 2021, the comment section exploded with 300 comments about dreams and wishes what it could or should be.
Today I was reading through your comments, and truly enjoyed the vivid discussion.
But when I arrived to the end of it, I realized that while it’s fun and nice to watch ahead and see what the future might bring us in terms of gear, sometimes it’s also worth to stop for a moment and look back at what we already have.
So, today, I’d like to bring back the attention to five Fujinon XF lenses that I call “forgotten“, but not because people don’t own and love them, but just because they have slipped under the radar overrun by the buzz about the latest and greatest and therefore don’t get the coverage they’d deserve anymore.
So FujiRumors would like to bring back balance in the Fuji Universe and gives to 5 lenses the revival they deserve.
Fujifilm recently said that there will be “more lenses for X and GFX mount” coming in 2021.
Of course one of those will be the Fujinon XF18mmF1.4 R WR which is on the official roadmap.
And that’s already it, no other lenses are the latest Fujinon X and GFX roadmaps.
However, FujiRumors already exclusively leaked for you that there will be also:
Now trusted sources contacted me, saying that one more lens coming in 2021 will be a Fujinon XF f/1.4 prime lens. As we told you recently, it won’t be the XF35mmF1.4 R WR, though.
So, another nice and fast f/1.4 prime will join the X club in 2021.
What’s your top wish?

Fujifilm General Manager Takashi Ueno said at the virtual CP+ convention 2021 that Fujifilm will release “many mirrorless X and GFX lenses this year“.
Well, the start in 2021 was fantastic, with the following three lenses launched:
But that is apparently not enough for 2021.
FujiRumors already told you to forget about the XF35mmF1.4MKII. That’s rocksolid multiple confirmed from several trusted sources.
What will still come for sure are:
We also know Fujifilm is also working on a Fujinon XF150-600mm, but that one should come in 2022. Of course FujiRumors is investigating and making constant progress on the rumor front, so expect updates soon.
In the meantime, down below is a summary of Fujifilm’s CP+ online talk.
I like the Focus on Glass series of Fujifilm: short, to the point, with a right mix of quick technical insights as well as field on experience by photographers.
And while today we will focus on the brand new Fujinon XF70-300mmF4-5.6 lens, which I believe will become a terrific best seller for Fujifilm, we invite you to check out also the previous Focus on Glass episodes:
And here is what they have to say about the Fujinon XF70-300mmF4-5.6:
Just recently we shared the news about a patent showing a Fujinon XF35mmF1.4 MKII.
I did warn you already in that article: attention, don’t get too excited about it, as this is just a patent, and as many other patents, it might never see the light of the day (remember XF16-55mmF2.8 OIS anyone?)
Well, after the article, multiple trusted sources immediately reached out to FujiRumors and told me that Fujifilm is currently not working on a Fujinon XF35mmF1.4 MKII.
Pay attention: “currently not working” does not mean Fujifilm will “never ever” make a XF35mmF1.4MKII. What it means is that right now Fujifilm is investing zero money and time into a XF35mmF1.4 MKII, and 100% of their X-mount lens R&D goes into other X glass.
What will really come?
Surely the XF18mmF1.4. Fujifilm is also working on a Fujinon XF150-600mm.
What else?
Well, I’ll let you know on FujiRumors soon enough ;).
