Rumor Update Regarding Fujifilm’s Next XF Lens

Share

From the top of a mountain peak in the Dolomites (see video here) we told you this:

We said no more no less than this.

However, I see the rumor is spreading the wrong way around the internet, so sources have now reached us to out again and would like me to clarify.

So I’ll do it now.

Our sources clearly said Fujifilm will launch the replacement of the Fujinon XF18-55mm f/2.8-4 and they never said anything about a Fujinon XF18-55mm f/2.8-4 Mark II, as I see it reported online.

What does this mean?

Well, according to our sources, the replacement of the XF18-55mm will have a slightly different focal length at both, the wide and the long end. No indication has been given about its aperture range so far.

So how is that the replacement then?

Well, very simple: once the new lens is out, Fujifilm will phase out and discontinue the lovely XF18-55 and the new lens will effectively replace it as the new standard kit lens option for Fujifilm cameras. Hence it will be the XF18-55mm replacement.

When will it come?

We know if will be Fujifilm’s next XF lens. But we also know there are no more announcements in 2023. So it has to happen sometimes in 2024

I hope this helps to clarify things and I hope it is now clear enough for everybody.
