BREAKING: Fujifilm Working on MKII Version of This Lens!

Share

This is probably one of the most exciting rumors of the year. At least for me, but I guess also for many of you.

Are you read for it?

Well, then have fun reading the rumor below.

Because I know many of you are waiting for exactly this lens.

Why?

Because the original MKI version is certainly loved and used by many, but it starts to show its age.

And now that third parties entered with their own, similar offerings, it was time for Fujifilm to refresh it.

And they’ll do it!

Because according to our trusted sources (THANKS!!!), Fujifilm is working on the successor of the Fujinon XF16-55mm f/2.8 lens.

The Fujinon XF16-55mmF2.8, also called “the brick” among fellow X shooters, is a fantastic lens and a true workhorse for many fellow X shooters our there.

However, at this point in time it is also an older lens in Fujifilm’s lineup.

And given that there is strong competition now in that segment, see for example the Sigma 18-50mmF2.8, an update to the Fujinon XF16-55mmF2.8 is definitely not only welcome, but also needed.

Stay tuned on FujiRumors if you want to know more about it ;).

Especially tempting (for me) is the huge rebate on the Adobe Creative Cloud Photography plan. You know I plan on leaving Capture One and this deal is tempting me to switch back to Adobe.

Surprise: Fujifilm X-M5 to be Launched in Second Half of 2024

Share

We told you that Fujifilm will revive a camera line in 2024.

I guess most of us hoped for the Fujifilm X70 successor, hence the Fujifilm X80.

But that won’t be the case.

According to our trusted sources, Fujifilm will launch the Fujifilm X-M5 in the second half of 2024.

A while back I wrote an article about the top 10 flop cameras of Fujifilm and the original Fujifilm X-M1 made it into that list.

I explained why the Fujifilm X-M1 failed (despite being the better camera over the Fujifilm X-A1) and which lessons Fujifilm should learned from that failure.

Let’s hope that this time they will do things right and give the Fujifilm X-M line the success it deserves.

And of course, feel free to let us know in the comments how you’d like the Fujifilm X-M5 to be.

Why a Digital XPan Fujifilm TX-3 Camera is NOT Needed

Share

Look guys,

I am fan of the idea of Fujifilm launching the Fujifilm TX-3 digital XPan camera in 2028.

I support this idea and I hope that that rumor will become true in a few years from now.

And I am not the only one.

FR-reader Pavel has written a wonderful article about why a digital XPan is needed and has shared lots of gorgeous samples.

I have also added my own thoughts to this debate.

But FujiRumors is a community. And in a community we can have different ideas.

And we love to give space to people who have a different view on certain things, even if those views do not match with my ideas.

And today it’s Timothy (Instagram @gibsonetal), who dropped me an email and told me why a digital Fujifilm TX-3 XPan camera is not needed.

I’ll share this thoughts below and you are free to drop your feedback in the comments below.

No ultra-wide TX-1 or XPAN? Just get an anamorphic lens!

Share

7Artisans is now teasing the 7Artisans AF 35mm f/1.4 APS-C autofocus lens.

Some specs:

  • AF 35mm F1.4
  • APS-C
  • autofocus
  • dimensions
    – ø: 68mm
    – Length: 43mm
  • Weight: 180g

Just for comparison, the Fujinon XF33mm f/1.4 has a diameter of 67 and a length of 73.5 and it weights 360g.

As opposed to many other autofocus lenses in this range, at least this one looks rather compact and light, making it stand out a bit from the other 33/35mm f/1.4 offerings.
